*Bam!
With a loud thud, the Chimera Richard is currently fighting bangs his head onto him, only to be deflected hard by his sword. And with the force of the impact, he was thrown almost two meters away from where he was.
He felt the pain come to his arms as he receives its heavy force. It felt as if the muscles inside his arms were individual cut off, and he was not able to move it for a few seconds.
There was no denying it, the head of his enemy is as hard as metal.
[ Tsk! ]
He looks at his opponent as he clicks his tongue in anger.
( Do you think I will just sit here and received your hits? )
Richard is an experienced fighter. He knows how to fight both monsters and people and he can adapt to almost any kind of situation he is put in.
He did not receive all of his enemy's previous attacks for no reason, he had taken them intentionally so that he would learn how they fight and so that he can adapt to it.
The enemy - he found two of its weaknesses -
1. It can only attack once with its head, meaning that if it misses, he would gain the advantage and he could immediately counter it. And even if they still have their claws to attack him, they will need at least a second to recover from their previous attack.
2. Once they rush towards you, they won't be able to change their direction at all; they always only go straight ahead and will only stop if they miss.
With that knowledge, he ought to apply it.
And the second his enemy prepare for its next attack - to prepare to rush towards him - he had already figured out a plan to defeat it.
*Swoosh...!
It dashes towards him.
And Richard prepared his sword, ready to counter.
He raises its blade over his head with two hands, breathes, and closes his eyes.
He waited...
For the enemy to come.
*Tick!
And as if a clock had sounded its bell, he opened his eyes just in time.
He saw the enemy now only a meter away from hitting him, and he immediately stepped away to his side to dodge it.
Just how he had planned it, he was able to dodge it, and now...
All he needs to do is to counter.
[ Haa!!! ] with a shout, he struck down his sword and slashes the side of his enemy.
Blood was immediately thrown onto the floor as his sword penetrated its skin.
As there was no way he will be able to cut off its heads, he went for its side, and as expected, he was able to win.
[ Haa... ] he took a long breath as he witnesses his own victory. He wipes out his sweat and brought back his sword on its sheath.
Then, he was greeted with a reply.
[ Hmm... So that's the proper way to do it, huh? ]
Zero - who had finished off his own fight compliments his strategy.
He was observing the fight since he had finished his and he seems to be really curious about his way of fighting, hence why he didn't help him. And Richard also didn't want to be assisted so it was only fair.
[ You really managed to steal a kill from me, huh...? ]
[ No... You allowed me to... ] he answers as he looks at the corpses of the two Chimeras Zero had just fought.
One of the corpses is neatly killed with both of its neck slashed clean. Since its heads weren't really taken off, it must've bled to death and immediately died.
But the other one was so gruesome that Richard was only able to take glances on it.
Unlike the other who was killed almost as clean as possible, this one would be the opposite.
One of its head that he can't even scratch is crushed into pieces and the other is cut off into different parts. Its body is also full of wounds and cuts that probably came from Zero's claws. It just couldn't get any messier.
It was almost as if he tried to experiment on this one before he got a good kill at the other.
Looking at it, it would be more reasonable to say that a terrible monster was who killed it and not a human at all.
[ I guess techniques really do matter. ] he heard him whisper quietly as he slowly walks towards him.
And as he did, Richard could only feel terrified.
Zero still has his claws on in which is covered in blood. Seeing it, Richard could only imagine which will its next victim be.
Luckily, he only walks past him and went towards the body of the Chimera he had defeated.
With a serious face, he holds one of the horns of the head that was a goat, and forcefully crashed it and took it out.
Although the scene was terrifying, what he had heard next had completely ruined it -
[ I can have the loot, right? ]

Maybe because he was now a dragon that he was able to do such a gruesome thing.
Zero looks at the corpse of the enemy he just fought, and surely, it was gruesome. If his old self was to see it, he will definitely puke.
But that was not the case now - now, he could look at it as if it was normal. The corpse he's looking at is something he can even compare to something like that of an ant.
And as a previous human, he knows that that outlook is not normal - it is even wrong.
And base on that change on him, he knows that he too is not normal anymore, but still, he doesn't care. All he needs to do and wants to do is to survive, and if he can, he will want to gain pleasure from it.
He was that kind of person - and now that he's a part dragon, who instinctively seeks survival and pleasure, that particular part of himself only grows stronger.
[ So, Zero... Is this already enough? ]
Richard - the person with him asked.
[ No, we need to go further. ] he answers with his usual demeanor.
He looks at Richard and he was reminded of the expression he was making with his face earlier.
( Am I really that scary? ) he could only ask himself internally.
