Sunlight shown through the window. It landed on the face of a sleeping teenager and woke him up. "What time is it?" Roman said through a yawn. He looked over at his clock and saw that it was already nine. "Oh no! I am going to be late for school!" he shouted as he jumped out of bed. Roman quickly got dressed and ran downstairs. He saw a plate of toast on the dinning room table. It was most likely left by his father this morning. Roman quickly grabbed the toast and shoveled it into his mouth. He quickly grabbed his backpack and ran out the door.
Roman took off down the street. He ran as quickly as he possibly could. He had always been good at running. He just barely made it to school on time for the 9:30 bell.
"Roman. You cut it close again today." His homeroom teacher Mr. Mitch said when Roman got to the doorway.
"Sorry Mr. Mitch. My alarm didn't go off." Roman said while blushing a little.
"Are you sure you didn't just forget to set it?" Mr. Mitch said with a sigh.
"I would never forget to do something as important as that" Roman quickly said. However, Roman had definitely forgot to set the alarm before he went to sleep.
"Alright. Go take your seat" Mr. Mitch told Roman. Roman walked to his seat and quickly sat down. The school day slowly dragged on until the final bell rang.
Roman quickly jumped out of his seat and ran outside. Roman was running through town toward his house. When he got to his house he saw a large moving truck parked out front. His face sank. He walked inside the house and he saw his dad.
"Are we moving dad?" Roman quickly asked.
"Yes. I was promoted yesterday and they moved me to the office down in Washington DC. I know that the school year just started but this way you can meet new friends and experience new things." Roman's dad said with a small smile.
"Alright. I guess I have to go say goodbye to my friends." Roman slowly walked up to his room and called his friends to say good bye. When he got back downstairs the moving company was trying to move the couch.
"Roman help the moving people with the couch!" His dad yelled from across the house.
Roman went and grabbed an end of the couch. Roman is very muscular, years of sports and weightlifting gave him some good strength, and could easily lift the side of the couch off the ground. When the couch had been moved he went back into the house. Roman walked back up to his room and started packing up his things. He thought back to the memories he had in this house. He lives alone with his dad after his mom and dad got divorced. His dad always played sports with him. He was sad to leave the place he grew up in but he was also excited to start high school in a new town.
"Let's go Roman!" His dad yelled up at him. Roman grabbed the last box and ran downstairs. He loaded the box into the back of his dad's car and hopped in the passenger seat. They started driving and Roman drifted off into sleep. A few hours later they arrived at their new home in a suburb outside of DC. The house was about the same size as their old house, the neighborhood looked nice, and there was even a park about two blocks down. Roman unpacked his stuff and started arranging his new room. After an hour of moving things into the new house they finished all the furniture. The moving company drove away and Roman started making some Mac and Cheese for dinner.
After dinner Roman did some strength training, took a shower, and then went to bed. He looked forward to his first day of school tomorrow. He would be attending Rolling Hills High school. He couldn't wait to see new people. He hoped they were all nice. Roman slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep.
