Chapter 24 - Talks of Alchemy

"What? You mean you still don't know about the Qi Maddening Pill? I'm so shocked, I think I might have a heart attack on the spot." Liu Sheng patted his chest to show his surprise to Tang Peng.

Shaking his head disapprovingly, he explained to Tang Peng, "The Qi Maddening Pill is formed from a mix of demonic beast blood. Basically, any demonic beast will do for the mixture, but I need the help of an alchemist to condense the pill, since consuming raw blood might cause me to mutate."

"So, what benefits does the Qi Maddening Pill give to you?" The Qi Maddening Pill must have been very valuable, since Liu Sheng has sacrificed his time and effort to stay here.

"The Qi Maddening Pill is one of the most basic essentials for a martial artist. It raises the Qi of a martial artist, through integrating the monster's aptitude into us. With the apill, I can finally breakthrough! Your teacher didn't teach you about this? How greatly irresponsible."

Martial Artists... Tang Peng thought to himself in silence. So this was the true meaning of a martial artist. He had heard about them before, from the same legends that had illustrated the cultivators. They were apparently masters of their body, and could use their body to shatter mountains and split seas.

"I think... I'm getting more and more interested in alchemists. Can they analyse pills?" Tang Peng raised this question. For now, he just wanted to analyse one pill. He didn't dare to show out his whole pill collection. It was too dangerous, especially if the pills were valuable.

"Of course they can analyse pills! Forget it, how did you even become a martial artist in the first place? Talking to you about this topic is like talking to a log!" Liu Sheng threw up his hands in exasperation.

"I ate a pill of some sort that made people chase after me... so I killed them all. Afterwards, the effect just... suddenly disappeared." Tang Peng explained to Liu Sheng, who finally understood Tang Peng's situation.

"Hmm... a pill that can elevate a normal person into a martial artist without any pain, even for a short time, it must be a amazing pill. It's a lifesaving treasure. What a pity it's gone now." Liu Sheng lamented on the loss of such a precious treasure, wasted away.

"What if I told you, that I have another?" Tang Peng's quick thinking led him to realise that pills should have a high value among martial artists. These pills could lead to him accumulating more resources to help him recover.

"Really? Hand it out!" Liu Sheng became excited at the prospect of seeing that pill. His eyes shone with envy as a pill materialised out of nowhere on Tang Peng's palm. He quickly grabbed it away, drooling over the beauty of the pill.

The pill in question was shaped in an oval, glowing with a purple light. It gave a calming feeling to Liu Sheng just by holding it in his hands. Liu Sheng was shocked to realise the value of the pill that had just appeared.

"This is a... Prime Grandmaster's Handiwork! I know the base pill, Calming Light, but this is... on a whole another level!" Liu Sheng's whole body was trembling at this point. This was highly valuable, worth more than the pill that Tang Peng had mentioned earlier.

"This is big... a pill like this could sell for millions of spirit stones!" Liu Sheng put down the pill gently on the table with a cloth under it. This was a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity! The spirit stones would be able to directly level him up to the Steeled Veins level, allowing him to perfect it all at once.

Greed started to rise up from the depth of his heart as he sneaked a glance at Tang Peng. If he could just kill the boy while he was weak, he would be able to take the pill away. The boy couldn't even protect himself in the first place. Liu Sheng started walking towards Tang Peng with evil intentions.

"I know what you're thinking. You are thinking of killing me, are you not?" Even without seeing, Tang Peng could figure out his intentions. There were no kind people that truly existed, unless they had this principle ingrained into them forcefully when young.

"Let me tell you sometime. Once I'm gone, the pills will disappear. These pills are bound to my life." Tang Peng casually made the pill on the table disappear, and reappear on his outstretched palm, along with two more pills.

"No way! You are a... Prime Grandmaster? How could this be happening?" Liu Sheng started to convulse violently, falling to the ground. The shock had been too much for him to handle.

A Prime Grandmaster alchemist was practically a legendary figure that transcended the mortal levels, and could be comparable to a deity. They were different from martial artists, and practiced spiritual energy of the immortals.

"I'm not a Prime Grandmaster. More accurately, I'm the inheritor of their will." Technically, Tang Peng wasn't lying. He was making good use of a dead person's belongings. He was sure that they would appreciate his efforts.

"If you really have more pills, do you know what this means? The martial world will completely flip as a result of these god like pills! The amount of demonic beasts have dropped recently, so this influx of pills will be treasures any faction would want to have!"

"Mm. Like I said, once I die, these pills will be gone. If they want the pills, they can't do anything to me, not even a scratch." Tan Peng closed his palm, before slowly opening it. There were no pills to be seen.

"I will give you a proposition. Even if I can't be killed by these factions, I don't want to get involved in their politics. If you act as my middleman, I will give you 1% of the earned profit." Tang Peng waved a huge carrot in front of Liu Sheng, who was already salivating at the prospects.

1% of the profits was practically non-existent for a small sum, but they were talking about godly pills here. He was practically getting free income, simply for a small effort. However, they still needed to find a faction to sell to. An auction for this kind of legendary items would only get him killed.

"Deal! However, you will need to give me an additional 1%, as the fee for safety. I might get killed selling these goods here, you know?" Tang Peng nodded. The value of the pills might make some people go insane. It was only reasonable for hazard pay to be paid out.

"Tomorrow, we will go to the various branches of the major organisations. That means, we will set off for the capital of Qin Empire, the Impenetrable Sword!" Liu Sheng declared their intentions for tomorrow.
