Chapter 56 - You can get hurt, but you will never die

Immediately Heidi and Emma drove out of the mansion, Emma felt her side glance on her.

"Hum.. Did I do something wrong?" Emma asked.

She was asked not to go out of character, but she couldn't bring herself to just act rude to people, so she tried to sound as casual as possible.

Not being rude or polite.

"I tend to appreciate beauty, when I see one and you my darling, possess one hell of a beauty.

It's hard to keep my eyes off you." Heidi replied, not hiding her thoughts.

Emma had no idea that she's into women and felt glad that Heidi didn't seem to hate her for getting close to Max which means that there's nothing between them.

Heidi's sexy figure could drive a man crazy and the feeling of wariness kept tugging the back of her head.

She thought Heidi might be an enemy, but seems that wouldn't be the case.

She's actually friendly and jokes around.

The way she put the words and her tone was flirty-like, which made Emma believe that she's probably teasing.

If it's a guy, the imagination could run wild immediately, but not when it's a girl. This sort of news hit hard a little bit.

Especially when the woman looked as dashing as this lady does.

"Thank you for that. You're so beautiful as well." Emma replied.

"Hmm. Thanks dear. Glad you think so and hopefully we could get along as days go by." Heidi said and Emma nodded her head.

"Me too." Emma replied and Heidi chuckled.

Half her attention glued to the road.

"I like your outfit by the way. Makes you look…. Hum hum. You should know what I mean." Heidi said dramatically and Emma couldn't help but chuckled.

"Well, I like your hair. The color is nice." She replied.

"Oh really! I will let it last forever since a sexy babe like you complimented it." Heidi said.

She changes her hair color constantly, but plans to leave it as blue, now.

"It looks awesome on you. The blue." Emma began loosening up and enjoying their conversation.

"Yours compliments your hot appearance as well. You're like one of the most beautiful girls that I've ever seen." Heidi said and heard Emma burst into laughter.

She doesn't have to worry about going out of character because Heidi has never met with Olivia. They met when she was Emma, so she can be Emma with her.

The other party won't feel that something is off.

"I'm feeling like a clown now." Heidi said with a soft smile.

"I'm sorry, but it just…" Emma paused and looked ahead at the road. "It felt like we're have the opposite sex kind of conversation. That was why I laughed." Emma said and still couldn't help but laugh more.

"Was that a bad thing?" Heidi asked and Emma suddenly stopped laughing.

"Not at all. It's just funny."

"What's funny about it. You don't like it?" Heidi asked again and Emma felt like the conversation was getting serious.

"I like it. I'm happy to be talking with you. I just… Okay, I'm sorry if the laughing annoys you." Emma said, not wishing to offend her.

She has never had a friend and she's enjoying this new one.

"How much do you like it?" Heidi asked and Emma's head snapped towards her.

"Do you have someone you're seeing? Like going out with?"

Hearing the question, Emma felt confused.

"You're single right?" Heidi asked again.

"Hum...yeah." Emma felt unsettled.

Why does it feel like she's having a conversation with the opposite sex?

"That's good. Seems like I might have a chance after all." Heidi said and Emma began coughing.

"Ch….Chan...chance?" She stammered and the car suddenly made a loud screech and before she could wrap her head around what was happening, Heidi's hand forced her head to duck down, immediately the car came to a halt.

Series of gunshot was heard and the sound of it hitting the back rest of the chair resounded in Emma's ears.

"Stay put." Heidi said in a tone that was totally different from her former one.

Emma was shaking like a rain-beat chicken at the moment.

FEAR

That word now envelopes Emma's entire being. Her heart was racing madly against her chest.

The fear of not wishing to die kicked in.

"Ho….ney." Even though she spoke in her head, she still stammered.

"You can get hurt, but you will never die." Honey replied.

Before Emma could digest the information, Heidi had managed to get into the backseat and when Emma shakily peaked while exclaiming at the sound of each shot, Heidi was no longer in the car.

"Oh my god! Where did she go? Did she leave me alone?" Emma asked, as her tears dropped, while squeezing herself at the space she was asked to stay put in.

She covered her ears with both palms and cried like a baby.
