I saw him talking with Anu. I hurried to talk to him but when he saw me approaching he left the place.
"What did he say?" I asked Anu. I was sure they were talking about me.
"Nothing, Thesika" she said to me.
"Tell me, Anu. I know you both were talking about me. What did he say? I forced her to give me an answer.
"You don't talk with him anymore. Then why do you bother about what he says about you?" She replied.
"Please Anu; don't kill me with your words. Just tell me what he said," I begged her.
"You already did it with your words, Thesika. You killed him with your words," she said to me.
"Please Anu," I said to her almost crying.
"He told me to take care of you. He said that he had hurt you a lot. He told me to take care of you in such a way that no one could hurt you again but Thesika you hurt him more then you imagined," she said. After a pause she continued again, "He said he is giving what you wanted."
"What?" I asked her.
"Thesika I know you love him still but just accept It." she said to me.
"I don't love him," I lied to her abruptly. My heart knew that I loved him still. I was not ready to accept it. My anger did not allow me to accept the truth.
"Thesika, you are saying it because you are angry with him but when this anger blows over, you cannot take it if he is not with you. You will blame yourself for what had happened. You will go to pieces if he is not there for you," she said.
"It's too late, Anu" I said, raising my voice.
"He said one more thing, he is leaving for Delhi for his higher studies and he will leave within a week. It's not too late now, just think" she said, leaving me immersed in my thoughts.
I started to cry. He is going to leave me and I can never see him again in my life. I locked myself in my room and cried out loud. Before I gathered my courage to call him, it became too late. He left me. Being there without him hurts me so deeply. I called him numerous times but he was always out of reach.
