Chereads / Queen Kohra / Chapter 35 - 35

Chapter 35 - 35

{Third Person Point of View}

"Jowe? Why are you here?" Kitari questioned.

"Britta told me something was wrong so I rushed back. Kohra, I have to apologize. I know you think me a coward and a deadbeat for abandoning you to the post and I truly am a coward. I ran from my responsibilities, from Muni. Instead of training you to be queen, I left. I truly am sorry"

"I can't say I blame you. It's truly a pain to be queen but I forgive you Aunt Jowe. I can't keep grudges at this point"

"Jeir, my daughter. I also owe you an apology. I know you feel responsible for what I did and you work hard to make it up to Kohra but you don't see how much she cares for you. She loves you even more for staying with her. I don't deserve to say this but I'm proud of you"

"It's fine mother. Besides, we'll need your help in the battle to come"

"Thank you" Jowe said sincerely.

"Anak is on his way. We should all settle down. Kohra dear, do you need something to eat? You went on such a long journey, I know you're aching to eat some handmade food. I asked the kitchen staff to make you some" Britta said with a doting look directed at Kohra.

"Thank you Britta" Kohra reciprocated with a smile.

Kitari felt very useless at that moment. She was always attending to her duties and minding her favourite husband that she didn't see how much her own daughter was suffering. She looked at Kohra and sighed deeply.

"Kitari, don't be like that. Kohra doesn't hate you or thinks you're useless. You're her mother and you're the reason why she became queen. It wasn't just to please you, but to show gratitude to you for being such a good mother. You may not be the best mother but best believe you raised a fine woman" Britta encouraged her.

"Honestly Britta, you have to stop reading my mind. It's annoying"

"I can't help it. Your mind is interesting....Oh, Anak is here. I have to go"

Britta left the throne room and the general came in.

"Your majesty, you have returned" she said, bowing.

"Yes. Are the troops in order, like I commanded?"

"Every single one of them"

"Good"

"Your majesty, if you don't mind me asking, are we being attacked by another kingdom?"

"We are being attacked.....but by our own kingdom"

"Your majesty....?"

"There's a rebellion and I'll be counting on you to stop it. My mother and Father will assist you. Make sure the rebellion doesn't reach the temple. Can I count on you general?"

"Yes your majesty. I will defend you till my last breath"

"I'm glad to hear that" Kohra praised, genuinely relieved.

Kitari and Atu couldn't confront Kohra or change her decision. They could only accept it and follow the general out, hoping this wasn't the last time they saw their daughter.

"Let's go to the temple"

"But, that's Muni's fortress" Jeir protested.

"Haven't you noticed the lines of the floor of the temple? They form symbols and coordinates. It's the ideal ritual grounds. Besides, she'll know we're there and she'll bring Lesker"

"Tch, how do you know she'll do just that?"

"Because she's someone that enjoys gloating. She'll bring him and she'll bring guests"

While they all went to the temple through Kohra's portal, Muni was preparing for a fight. She tossed a set of clothes at Lesker and ordered him to wear it.

"I'm a goddess, not a grouch. I would allow you to wear something good for such an important event"

"I don't want your handouts"

"Eh? Handouts? These are top fashion items from your filthy world..."

"It is your world too. This is just a dimension"

"Shut up! Like you'll know anything about fashion!"

"Stop yelling and let's go. I have more important things to do" Burmi says from the bed.

Just a look at him gave Lesker gooseflesh.

"Hey now, don't think you can talk to me anyhow. I'm still your leader" Muni said to Burmi, her tone frosty. Burmi's countenance is unchanged but he nods.

"Good. Get out and let him change. Time is of the essence"

The two left the room eventually and Lesker changed into the clothes. No use fighting it.

He pushed the door of the room and suprisingly, it opened. Standing by the edge of the door were the two gods and three more.

"Oh, you're finished?" Lesker nodded.

"Let me introduce you to my friends; Gunjar, god of ice....."

A god dresses in light blue robes with long white hair, shinning blue eyes, built like an abnormally large ox and weilded a sickle behind him. His expression was frosty but Lesker was more bothered about Muni bringing reinforcements.

"Of course I'm not stupid, I would bring reinforcements. This is Loidu, goddess of water and Intar, goddess of the earth"

Loidu wore a gentle countenance and had a halo of water around her. Everything about her was aqua blue, from her hair to her eyes to her dress.

Intar on the other hand was the shortest of all of them, even shorter than him. She wore a green dress and her hair was a dirty shade of blonde. Her eyes were green and her skin was like mud.

Lesker's breath almost ceased, standing beside such powerful beings for a long time without having magix. His vision blurred and his body swayed. Burmi caught him before he hit the ground.

"Oh, he passed out already? Well, it makes it easier to take him back. Let's go"
