After coming to the entrance of the valley Vanessa took out a jade badge from her pouch. As soon as the pouch touched the stone monument, it started vibrating and the fog which was present at the entrance of the valley started to dissipate.
' Come on Knave, follow me. You see this Jade badge without it nobody can enter the valley and the Academy, it is only at the start of every year right after the new year, will there be some dissipation in the fog when the elders come to recruit disciples? But as you are family and I am an inner disciple, I can help you start your admission in advance' Vanessa started to explain while walking through the foggy path, because of the badge the fog the already thinned down quite a bit so it didn't take them much time to reach the gates of the academy.
'Oh! if it isn't Vanessa has the emergency at your home been cleared!' asked the old man who was sitting under the shade of a tree seeing Vanessa.
'Yes Elder Prune, It was not much of an emergency. It was just that my brother had awakened his talent for cultivation so I was called back' Vanessa told the truth as it was not necessary to hide it.
Hearing this elder Prune opened his eyes and he looked at Knave, scrutinising him thoroughly, only after some time he nodded and said, 'So, this is your brother. Kid, what is your name?'
'It's Knave!, elder Prune!'. Knave replied while bowing at a right angle to show his respect, he knew that at the start setting any kind of good impression only any cultivator in the academy was important and for an elder who even Vanessa respected was even more so.
'Oh quite an honest kid, you are good. You know how one should show respect to their Elders, not like those brats that just come and go.' Elder Prune said approving of his action, as he was in a good mood today he thought for some time and said,
'Okay, I won't take to much of time Vanessa, take him to the admission counter and check his talent, then help him complete the procedure to enter the outer Academy.
Later when he comes to the Cultivation Tower, I will help him pick up some good techniques for his cultivation.' Elder prune said while getting up and going on his way.
' Thank you very much!! Elder!!.' Vanessa said bowing deeply, she knew how much the promise of this elder meant.

After this small encounter, Vanessa and Knave resumed their Journey to the admission counter on the way Knave saw many cultivators in their robe walking to and fro from the central tower in the Academy, they followed the cultivators till they reached the counter.
There they saw a middle-aged woman sitting on the counter while writing something in a book.
'Elder! I have brought my little brother who had just awakened to enter the Academy!' Vanessa said.
The Elder continued writing while looking up, seeing that she had gathered the elder's attention Vanessa showed her, her inner disciple badge.
After looking at the badge for quite some time and identifying it was real that the Elder nodded and signalled Knave to come forward while taking a Crystal stone out from under the desk.
Looking at the Crystal Knave couldn't help but feel crisis over his head as he already knew what it was, as Vanessa had told him in advance the test for entering the academy.
