' Cul.cul..cultivator, ahem did you just say cultivator? Knave, did you just say you have become a cultivator?' Robert even though was hoping for the same thing in his mind but thinking about it and having the thought become reality we're two different things.
He still recalled when Vanessa had also become a cultivator, she was resting in the garden when suddenly she collapsed and started screaming because of the pain.
At that time he had gone to various physicians but nobody could tell what the illness was, after Vanessa described her vision of seeing a tree after the pain went away one of the physicians who knew about the immortals suggested for her to be tested by the Academy on the island.
He had to use all the savings he had to get an opportunity to be tested and the result, Vanessa turned out to be a cultivator with a good aptitude and after 8 years she was already an accomplished student of the Academy.
'Master, I think Knave should be sent to the restroom for his help.' while Robert was still reminiscing about the past Sam came from the side to pull him back so that he could handle the current situation.
'Yes, yes Knave is a growing kid he needs to have his rest, I think he just got tired from all the work. Everyone thank you for coming to this party but now it is getting late so we should call it a day.'
'Yes, what mayor said made sense. Then we will be on our way.'
'Yes let's go it's getting late'
' yes I have work tomorrow so I am leaving '
After everybody saw the meaning behind Roberts action nobody was foolish enough to ask any questions, they had just come for the fun of the event and to give Robert some face.
Even though among them some knew what a cultivator was they were mostly old people from a small town, their interests in the immortal world and immortals was only limited to stories.
Though they heard what Knave said they did not want to meddle in Roberts affairs, as Knave was under Robert it was his decision what to do with him, not theirs.
It took some time for the back garden to be completely empty after everyone was gone, Robert finally directed his gaze at Knave thinking about how he should go about this sudden situation.
' Knave, how do you know that you have become a cultivator?' as if understanding Roberts predicament Sam asked the most important question, as it was quite hard to understand that how he knew his situation so clearly without any prior knowledge, as knowledge about immortals is quite rare.
' Steward, as you know I like to read. Some time ago I had found a book called "Basic Requirements for Cultivation and
Realms of cultivation" written by somebody named Thomas Smith. I was actually quite interested in it and after reading the book I easily memorized it, in it, he had said how I would see something like a tree when I awaken so I think I have become a cultivator.'
I was already prepared for this question since the day I first read the book since I knew, any kid who reads daily will eventually read the book about cultivators so rather than hiding it I thought it was better to use it.
As for why I did what I did was for two reasons First, so that some people knew that I became a cultivator other than people in the mansion, this way if Robert doesn't help me enter an Academy if I left by myself nobody can tarnish my reputation so that I could use it in the future.
Second, this was what had happened with Vanessa so by hearing and analysing all the information I got in the past I came with the most favourable way for me to drop this information on Robert and then have him help me enter the Academy as I don't think they will let anybody enter without proper check.
Now all was in the hands-on how Robert takes his next step, while I was looking at him with the same 'innocent' eyes to find out what I should do now he took the step that I had thought most of,
' Knave, will you become my grandson?'
and this was the checkmate for Robert.
