Months have passed. Vasily almost fully recovered. Nana, Sasha, and Richard all trying to find this Uhl. Whomever or whatever it is. All but in vain. Richard moved to them now and with his power helping the Vasilyevich family ever so slightly. The old, barely a house turned into a quite nice looking estate.
It's exactly noon.
The three now sitting in the new table that have been recently bought. All of them but especially Nana being visibly frustrated by the lack of progress.
"Come on! Where the fuck are those rats hiding!?" Shouted Nana while smiting down to the new table creating a noticeable dent.
"Nana. Sister." Said Sasha trying to calm her down.
"I know you are quite inpatient and angry but you better take your time. They are in hiding. Most likely becouse they wait for us to forget them then they strike again. All we can do now is wait and collect every bit of information we can. Just wait for the inevitable mistake they make." Said Sasha
*Inhale...count 4 Exhale count 4...repeat*
Nana eventually calmed down. It turned very quite again only the slight ticking of the clock can be heard on the wall. Nana decided to take a cig out and lit with his fire magic as she used to do. She leaned the back with the chair ever so slighly. Spit out the cigarette into the air doing a spin and landing back to her mouth then she proceeded to do this again and again.
"How did you do that?" Said Richard in Awe.
"A cool trick i learned from the streets in Los Angeles." replied Nana.
"There is a question i wanted to ask for so long but i never felt the it was apropriate."
"What? You actually care for others feeling now?" Said Nana sarcastically.
"Where are you from? You seems to be from asia..I mean i don't have anything against it but.... Said Richard embarrassed somewhat.
Nana for the first time messed up her trick and fell straight into her face. After a bit of dusting of she looked at Richard with a sad look.
"I..I don't know to be honest. I woke up in the beaches of Los Angeles when i was 6 years old." Said Nana slowly.
Vasily stepped into the conversation.
"What's the talk? asks Vasily.
"Vasyl. Where Nana from? Asks Richard.
"Ohh that's an interesting subject. I don't know where she is from all i know is she is asian. She saved my life from bandits 10 years ago and that's why she is here." Said Vasily bluntly.
Richard took a note in his head about this.
Vasyl slowly went back to his work after getting the answer.
"Wait....how old are you Nana? Asked Richard.
"1st rule. Never asks a woman's age. But anyway. I am 18 i will be 19 soon." Said Nana.
Richard was somewhat shocked. He thought that she is older but not much.
"Its so hot here!" Said Nana taking off her leather coat.
"Ironic isn't it?" said Sasha looking up briefly from her book.
"Shut up!" shout Nana.
Now with out her leather coat. Richard took notice of her armor. Simple black t shirt with some armor around her shoulders and breasts which where shining in white light despite being black as night.
"Have you heard the tale of the Golden Katana?"
Asked Richard in a coy attitude.
"Golden Katana? I don't think soo..." retort Nana.
"It's t.."
"It's a myth..." says Sasha, breaking Richard's story.
"You said that to a vampire kid.." Said Richard mockingly.
Sasha didn't took a word as she was reemerged into her little book.
"...Anyway." Followed Richard.
"The tale is from Asia. The land of sunrise, so to speak. Apparently an old warrior way before Columbus ever thought coming to America. Came to America after his sail broke. He came to the land of "coppermen".
He thought those men and become the emperor of the lands. But before he died he left a weapon crafted by the best goldsmiths and craftsmen. It is said that the weapon can kill a God definitely." Said Richard.
Nana went into awe like the little kids around the campfire.
"Where is it now??" Asked enthusiastically.
"Dunno..I lived long enough to see some wonders but i never seen or even heard its location. It very well maybe a story." Said Richard.
"And why did you brought up this now? asked Nana.
"Well its also said that the only person can wield is the harbinger of a new age. The Golden Dragon. Have its arm made of gold addored and blessed by the Golden Dragon. Indomitable. And everlasting." Said Richard.
"That's what they are after...." Said Sasha.
"Huh?" both Nana and Richard looked at Sasha.
"I never thought about that though...Okay. Even if it is a myth Uhl's men might be after that. They might think that you know the where it is. They wanted to break you and use your golden touch to find the weapon.... Or they think you might have connection to the sword." Said Sasha.
"I don't think that is the case." Said Richard.
"Well its all just a possibility." Said Sasha back.
"But its an idea we can work with." Continued Sasha.
"Father!" Cried Sasha.
"Yes?" Asked in a hurry.
"How hard is it to get into Mexico?"
The others were slightly confused but didn't said anything.
"Well. Not to hard. Border is still just a line in the dirt. But why do you want to go south? Said Vasyl in the calm and collective manner of his.
" There was only three civilization that would be capable of making the Golden Katana. The Incas and the mesoamerican tribes and the most likely the Mayans. If the myth is true that means the warrior would go up north first then down thanks to the pacific current. More south and he goes back becouse of the counter current. Secondly... The Mayans flourished in the 8th century and if the myth is true again it would be most likely he unite the city states and carving the Maya empire. Although all this is just a theory." Sasha said in a calm matter.
"Mayans...What about the aztecs?" Asked Nana.
"The aztecs were bloodthirsty savages. They would most likely sacrifice the warrior to on of their eldritch gods." Said Sasha
"But none of us speak spanish" Said Richard.
Sasha raises her hands in silence, munching on some breadstick.
"Is there anything you can't do?" Asked Richard semi-sarcastically.
"Yes. That's why Nana exist."
"Hey!"
"So...That's the plan?" Asked Vasily who remained silent up to this moment.
"Apparently..Yes." Said Nana, while already started packing some stuff.
"I think we rushing this a bit. How about waiting more?" Said Richard in a bit scared tone.
"Huh? Are you scared?" Said Nana, teasing Richard.
"Beside." continued Sasha.
"There is a high chance of they already moved forward as their vampire hunt was fruitless.
So waiting would not work. Now we have a plan that what they might do we can act."
Said Sasha
"This is very risky. It's all based on a myth that might not even be true and even if it is true and that is what are they after. You could be wrong."
Sasha leaned forward clasping her hands.
"I am never wrong." said slowly, condescending manner.
After a large sight Richard looked forward a with a smile.
"Okay..You are the weirdest bunch in this side of the mississippi. But your sister did kinda saved my life. So at least i can do that." Said Richard.
"Guys!" Shouted Nana.
"I am ready!" Said Nana fully packed the horses with everything that they might need.
Both of them looked at her and laughed. After some minutes passing by they all were ready to leave. Vasily stood in the doorstep sasha get closer to him and hugged him. Vasily picked up. after a few seconds of wholesome hugging Vasyl put her down.
"Please watch yourself Father." Said Sasha getting close to break into tears.
"Do you think a bullet can stop the Bear? Haha! I was born in Russia, not some german principality! Said Vasily proudly.
Sasha didn't said a world but smiled then she went back to leave room for Nana.
"Father.. you were a father to me and took me when i had no one. But i never said thank you..
Thank You!* Said Nana in a smile.
Richard formally gave a small gift of a large stone turned to gold, and just shook hands.
All three took on the horses and waved one final time. After a leaving the town Richard broke the silence between them.
"So where are we heading first?" Asked Richard.
"First the city of the west. Los Angeles." Said Sasha.
