Auntie Sigie opened the door carefully and spoke softly when she saw her boss in a daze as he looked at the young lady's face. "Sir, I've brought the clothes that you asked for." She made her way in the room.
Quince stood up from the bed to give them space. When he got to his study room he poured himself a glass full to the brim of whiskey and gulped it down like it was water. He was scared, if he had been even a minute late, he would've lost his girl to that scum. He felt like resurrecting him to kill him again and again.
Cy came in the door and came to stand next to Q, poured himself a glass of whiskey too. "The boys did a good clean up job, no witness too" he reported solemnly. No trace of his usual playful self. He too realised the severity of the situation. Had Quince been late, their Queen would've been violated or even killed by that man.
He gulped down the drink and said "Snoop is investigating, you'll get your answer soon" he put down the glass and left the study room.
Quince never once moved from his position, like a statue he kept looking out the window. Thinking of all the ways he will make whoever was behind this suffer.
Auntie Sigie came in with the doctor after a while. They went together to check on Gio. She was now bathed and the blood on her face was wiped off and she looked more beautiful and Quince fell deeper and deeper with her.
"All these are superficial wounds, she'll be fine in a few days. She also wasn't violated and is still a virgin..." the doctor saying a series of medical things. But Quince was already dancing in his head. He had heard already what he was most worried about, first the wounds aren't serious and second she wasn't r*ped. For him that's all he wanted to hear and thus was extremely happy about it.
After a few more checks and more medical words, the doctor left. Auntie Sigie sighed and asked "You really love her don't you?"
From her tone, Quince could tell she disapproved. Auntie has been a second mother to Quince, had been taking care of him for a very long time. Also, she had a fortune-telling practice. She was divine fortune teller.
"Yeah" Quince noticed that Aunt Sigie's hand was twitching, which was a sign that she saw something in the spirit. "What did you see?" Quince asked afraid of the answer because of the way Aunt Sigie sounded. He couldn't bare to handle bad news, not when it was concerning Gio. He loved Gio with his all, and would do anything it took to make it work with her, no matter what the spirits said.
"You know what, it's late, you should go and rest, ma" Quince didn't want to hear anything so he quickly said, unless it was a bad prophecy. Aunt Sigie sighed and made her way to the door. When she got to the door she turned and looked at him and said "Good luck, you will need it" turned around and opened the door.
Before she stepped out she said without turning back to look at him, "Because I see... Love, despair and death"
