Finally, when the little creature stopped crying, the first thing Libitina felt was pride.
Yurian had often teased her of her weak body, but despite losing an eye and breaking all her bones, she was still alive after the owl's tantrum stopped. 'Who is weak now?'
Libitina tried again to communicate with the saw whet owl in her mind.
'Hey, there, can you read my mind?'
"Sniff…yes, Master."
'You said that I am Persephone? But how can that be? I can't be an evil spirit.'
Libitina was confused. How did I become someone with the blood of Persephone? And wasn't Persephone the great Demon Spirit who destroyed many places and killed many people before? I didn't do any of that.
"…."
The saw whet owl kept quiet before it started cooing again, stamping its little feet into the ground.
"Maybe it's just because Master doesn't remember… after all, Master forgot about me too…"
The little saw whet owl started to cry again. "Chirp! Chirp…"
'…Well, how do you prove that I am Persephone?' Libitina quickly interrupted the owl.
"Only someone with the blood of Persephone can trigger the magic within the bracelet. So Master is Persephone."
'Wait…The bracelet?'
"Yes, Master!" the little owl started dancing. "I've been waiting for a long time, Master! When you called for me, I immediately dashed out from that bracelet in your pocket."
Libitina started.
In fact, part of the reason why she volunteered to go to Solomon City was to see if there was a chance to meet Marianne and Yurian. She did not know how, but she had found Marianne's bracelet in the pocket of her workpants when she was washing up.
She remembered being extremely shocked. She had seen the bracelet before in the gameplay. It was an heirloom from the Blanche family that was only handed down to a family member who had awaken as the Moon Saint. After all, Marianne's family had a rich history, as it had at least two previous ancestors who had received the blessings of the Moon Spirit and became the Moon Saint.
It also explained why the Blanches biologically had such large magical reserves and blue eyes which normally signify high magical accumulation. But the blessings from the Moon Spirit also meant that it was difficult for Blanches to reproduce; as such, the House of Blanche was left with only Marianne as a descendent and had fallen to become an ordinary aristocratic house since ancient times. Marianne's debut as Moon Saint had been a fortuitous event for her House.
The most important point was, Marianne had given this bracelet to Alistair when she professed her love for him. To not disrupt the storyline, it was imperative that she returned it as soon as possible.
Libitina had admired the white, sparkling bracelet before placing into her right breast pocket. She wanted it to return the bracelet to Marianne after sending a Melody to her in Solomon City.
'Now, you're telling me that your heirloom had an owl inside it? And is somehow connected to your sworn enemy, the Demon Spirit Persephone? Are you kidding me, scriptwriter!?'
