Chapter 21 - Escape

Lu Shen got into situations like these very often. He always wore a security watch. When he pressed a button on it, it indicated that he was in danger. It would track his location and it would send it to his most trusted person, Wang Jiu, because he was the only person that Shen's men would listen to, other than Lu Shen. They knew each other for a very long time. After the location would be sent out, there would be a confirm request to confirm whether or not a person was able to get the location. However, Lu Shen didn't know that his friend had betrayed him and went to the side of the enemy. Since Wang Jiu didn't confirm it, Lu Shen knew that nobody was coming to save them, so Lu Shen would have to help them escape on his own.

The man that had his wrist crushed by Lu Shen was the leader of the group, so he ordered his men to take Lu Shen away. Every time a person would put their hands on him, he would kill them. One by one, people were punched in the throat, and Lu Shen would constrict their airways by strangling them. Some people even took their weapons out and tried to stab him, but Lu Shen always had a way to turn it back to them, so they could stab themselves. Tang Lin was standing at the sides, watching her fiancée kill the men. It wasn't the first time she saw a bunch of people get killed.

She had done the same thing before in her high school days. A group of men kidnapped her and her best friend, Ke Fangyi, after they left the school. Ke Fangyi died trying to help Tang Lin escape. She told her that it would be better if at least one of them got out alive. The kidnappers wanted to keep Tang Lin for ransom from her wealthy family, but her friend was also with her and they had no choice but to take her also. They were enraged when they found out that Tang Lin escaped, so they killed Ke Fangyi.

Tang Lin was depressed when she found out what happened to her. She promised to get revenge for her friend, so she snuck out of the house with a hammer and went to the place that she had once escaped. She lost her mind that night and she felt like a psychotic bitch.

When she got there, it was as if an devil was unleashed. The kidnappers saw that she was back and one of the men said, "You're back? You must have a death wish! Our boss beat us up because of you!"

He stomped towards her and was about to grab her arm. Tang Lin lifted her eyes and the man saw a murder-like gaze. The aura around her was cold and suffocating.

She lifted the hammer and smashed it across his head. She continued to do so, even after he became unconscious, so there was a very bloody sight. She thought, 'That was the man who dared to touch Fangyi while I was here!'

Tang Lin looked at the leader and said coldly, "Tell me the name of the man who killed my Fangyi!"

"I did. So what? You gonna smash my head open, too? I'd like to see you try," the leader said as his men surrounded Tang Lin.

Tang Lin looked fearless. A man raised his hand at her. She dodged his punch, and smashed the side of his knee with the hammer. His leg was deformed and he was left wailing on the ground. As the other men attacked her, she dodged their hits and swung the hammer at their necks and stomachs. Many of them coughed up blood because of the impact and they all fell to the floor. Tang Lin remembered the suffering that she and Fangyi went through when they were there and she smashed the heads of all the men lying on the floor. There were no more sounds of wailing and crying.

The leader was left shocked. He backed away when he saw that she was now coming towards him with a bloody hammer. She looked like a psycho with blood drops on her face. Of course, it wasn't her blood. It was the blood of the ones she killed.

"Please spare me! I promise! I will never try to bother your family again!" He went on his knees and begged.

Tang Lin looked down on him, "You killed my Fangyi. I will never forgive you!"

His head was pounded in a blink of an eye and he laid on the floor, as blood dripped from his head and he was no longer alive. She dropped the hammer and went into her car, realizing what she did, but she did not regret it.

When she got back home, she went to her room and washed off all of the blood. Her mother and father watched her 24/7 after the kidnapping, so they had the live CCTV of the kidnapper's hideout. Her mother weeped and didn't recognize her daughter in the screen. The daughter she knew was kind-hearted, and she would always solve problems without violence. The woman killed all of the men without hesitation and she had a murderous glint in her eyes. Her parents only believed that it was true until they saw their bloody daughter walk into the house with a calm expression thirty minutes later. She looked as if she hadn't just killed a dozen of men earlier.

Tang Wei hired men to clean up the crime scene and he covered it all up. He was not going to let his daughter have a criminal record. He made sure that nobody found out, and he had done a very good job at it because even the most powerful person in the capital, Lu Shen, was unable to find out about it. They never spoke about that night to their daughter, and it had just turned into a past incident as time passed by.

So that's why Tang Lin wasn't scared when she saw how her fiancée's crushed the bones of the men. She felt satisfied. How dare they mess with her and her fiancée? They messed with the two most deadliest and ruthless people in the capital.

At the side of her eye, she saw a man with a weapon come up behind her fiancée, so she pulled Lu Shen to her. She was too late, since her long dress slowed her movement and the man stabbed Lu Shen in the side with a pocketknife. Earlier, the man was aiming for a vital spot, but since Tang Lin pulled him away, the man was only able to stab him in his side. Lu Shen groaned and wrapped his hand around the man's neck. He squeezed it until the man stopped moving and he threw the man aside.

Her fiancée was breathing hard and he was about to fall. Tang Lin quickly went besides him to give him support and she led him to sit down in the car. Blood was gushing out of the wound.

"Take it out. It's so uncomfortable," Lu Shen looked at the pocketknife stuck inside of him.

Tang Lin hesitated because she didn't want to hurt him, but in the end, she held onto Lu Shen's hand as she grabbed the knife and pulled it out swiftly.

Lu Shen squeezed his fiancée's hand tight because of the pain.

"I'm sorry that you had to see that. You must think I'm a monster now. If this is the reason why you want to leave me, I'll allow it," Lu Shen said because he didn't want her to look at him with fear for the rest of his life.

However, he was surprised to see that she wasn't scared or distancing herself from him.

"Are you dumb? No matter what, I will never leave you. Do you understand me? Even if you have killed a thousand people, I would never leave you. By the way, I've seen and done worse than what you've done." Tang Lin said as she applied pressure on the wound, so there would be less blood loss.

He didn't understand what she was saying. Lu Shen was unable to ask her about it because she was about to call her father.

"We got into an accident and Shen needs immediate medical care." She paused, "Okay...We'll drive over."

She put her phone down and turned to Lu Shen.

"I'm taking you to my house. My father already sent over the best doctor in the capital over there. I know that the public will question you if they find out about this incident, so to avoid the chaos, you could just be treated privately."

Lu Shen was so grateful that he had found such an amazing and considerate woman like her. He hadn't even mentioned that problem, but she had already read his mind and solved the problem for him.
