After going to the private room which was booked earlier for the purpose of this date, Zhou Ting almost could not stop himself from immediately jumping into the topic of the mother daughter pair's discussion earlier in the day. He wanted to know the content of their discussion in its entirety.
Back at the hospital, although it has been a while since their parents where in a coma, apart from the last time when her mother opened her eyes for a while and then went back to sleep, there had been no other indication of improvement in their condition.
It was as if that one time she opened her eyes was an illusion.
It seemed almost as if they imagined the whole thing and their eyes and mind were playing tricks on them.
Zhou Ling didn't know how to describe the feeling. That feeling of having happiness with in your grasp— albeit partial — and then to suddenly lose everything all over again.
That feeling is beyond painful.
Since the last waking up and going back to sleep incident, Zhou Ling couldn't count the number of times she had hidden in her room and cried her eyes out.
She couldn't let her brother know and even less her able Secretary. She knew he was dependable but she couldn't bring her self to cry in his arms. There was no way to go around it without her feeling like they already crossed a line.
So what better choice was there than to have her little pity party alone?
Even as she sat there watching both her parents lying on their beds like they were just sleeping and everything was fine; it took a lot of will power to prevent herself from being a crying mess within seconds.
She couldn't help thinking that she was nothing but useless. She knew that the whole thing wasn't like a normal accident but still, of what use is knowing when you couldn't do anything but sit around waiting for the police to conduct their investigations that didn't even seem to be going anywhere.
One thing she was definitely sure of was that her brother already knew the culprit but was bidding his time which she couldn't understand because she knew that if it was her,she would probably be torturing the person to death. The kind of torture which makes living worse than death itself.
Clearing her mind of all the negative thoughts, she began to talk to her parents about recent happenings including her brother's so called ' secret family.' Of course because she was absent minded, the didn't notice the slight movement of her father's fingers.
She really hoped for things to get better.
Feeling a little drowsy, she rested her head on the side of her mother's bed; at least in this way,she could feel closer to her. She really missed her parents.
If only they would be able to miss her too so they would open their eyes to see her. She thought before drifting into slumber.
