After lunch, both mother and daughter sat in the living room to watch a few television dramas neither of them asking the questions they wanted answers to.
Although Mo Xiaye did her best to hide her anxiety, it didn't mean that Mo Ning wouldn't notice. As a person who has lived with her for more than nineteen years, she - Mo Ning - could boldly say that she understood her mother more than she did herself and from her behaviour of shifting about in her seat and her hand movements, she knew that the older woman had something on her mind or rather, something she wanted to discuss with her or tell her but was too nervous of the reaction she might have to whatever topic she had in mind so she didn't know how to start.
On the other hand, Mo Xiaye was indeed nervous but she was more concerned about what might have happened to her daughter to create that gloomy atmosphere around her.
" Mom look... "
" Ning Ning what... "
The both of them turned to each other and spoke at the same time making them break into a fit of giggles. They both calmed down for a while but they both were now visibly relaxed as compared to earlier. That was because their little round of giggles reminded them so much of when they still lived in their former neighbourhood and how they both used to interact because back then, even though they were mother and daughter, they were more like siblings.
" Mom just go ahead and say what you have in mind, I can tell you're very nervous which means that what you have to say is very important. " Mo Ning said breaking the silence.
" Yes I do have something important to tell you, but I want to know what happened to you first. I don't want to find out by watching the entertainment news like last time. "
" But... "
" No buts. I'm your mother so I worry. Do you think that if you don't tell me I won't be worried? It will only make me more anxious for you. So if you still regard me as your mother, you have to tell me what happened. If not, then I have nothing more to say. " Mo Xiaye said interrupting her daughter from her attempt at excuses.
" Alright, I'll tell you. " In resignation, Mo Ning told her mother everything that had happened the previous day without missing a beat.
But after telling her mother and also airing her grievances before her, Mo Ning decided she did feel much better telling it to someone instead of bottling everything up inside and was even so because she completely trusted her mother and knew that she wouldn't use any of the things she just said against her.
Thinking up to there, Mo Ning felt a little guilty for somehow shutting her mother out of a part of her life. She didn't know if it was because of her career as an actress but she had to admit that since she started college and until she finished till now, she tended to hide things from the people around her because she knew that a little mistake could spell doom for her entire career and subconsciously, she excluded her mother from inside of the bubble she put around herself.
She decided to talk to her mother more about these things in the future at least it would make her worry less and also help her-Mo Ning - feel better by talking to someone.
After setting her mind straight, she was ready to hear whatever big news her mother had for her.
