Not waiting to hear whatever Chen Tian still had to say, Zhou Ting grabbed his suit jacket.
"Get the car keys we're going to the hospital. "
He said moving towards the door.
" Yes sir. "
Close to an hour later, they were rushing towards the private ward where Zhou Ting's parents were.
Even though it was just his mom who had woken up, he believed that it was a big step forward. A huge improvement and that it won't be long before his father comes out of his coma as well.
Zhou Ting pushed open the door to the ward peeped inside and quietly entered the room when his sister gave him a signal to be quiet. Although he didn't particularly have a wide smile that stretched from ear to ear on his face, the glimmer of light in his eyes to a very different story from his physical disposition.
Technically, he was happy at least she had woken from the coma but he knew that he couldn't let himself smile until he sees her awake with his very own eyes.
Even though she might have woken up, she might have slipped back into the coma when she saw her husband like that beside her. He knew that he was been too negative but even though no one told him the bitter truth, he might as well tell it to himself to be better prepared for the worst but a little part of him secretly hoped that he was just thinking too much into things and that she was just taking a nap.
....
After a good night of sleep, Mo Ning felt much better than the previous day. Still sprawled on the bed, she looked towards the window where the sunlight was streaming in through the little gaps in the curtain and all she wanted to do was bury herself in her comforter and just sleep the day away but her stomach was obviously not having any of that because she had just registered the thought when a loud growl tore through the room destroying her well though out plan.
" Oh well, here goes my day of sleeping in and lazing about." She grumbled while untangling herself from the quilt before stepping on the cold floor. She quickly withdrew her legs, a reflex reaction on her part. She searched for her indoor slippers before putting her legs back on the ground. Autumn was fast approaching which meant that the weather was getting colder and colder, the perfect time to sleep in or roll around in bed. But the stomach gets what the stomach needs plus she might have some work or other things to take care of.
Sigh!
Being an adult really is tiring!
She went into the bathroom to freshen up for the day before dragging herself out of the room still yawning. She had seen her bandaged hands in the bathroom but she tried not to dwell on it for now because it would be less stressful for her.
Going towards the kitchen, she smelt the heavenly aroma of food which made her stop dead in her tracks. Who could be cooking in her house by this time? She knew she hadn't given anyone the keys to her apartment then how did.... Oh right she totally forgot. Her assistant had spent the night. She strolled into the kitchen and sat at the table before greeting the said assistant who was busy moving about creating delicacies. She really wouldn't mind waking up to this every morning, she actually could get used to it she thought.
She stood up to get a glass of water and had just put away the glass preparing to put one of the carrots on the chopping board into her mouth when the sound of her phone ringing interrupted her movement. After searching for a while, she found in on the couch but the phone had already stopped ringing.
Checking the caller ID, it was a call from her mom. She dialled the number which was picked up on the first ring.
After speaking with her mother for a while, they established that she had to go home to see her later in the day, which had Mo Ning's head spinning on how she was going to explain her injuries to her mom.
If I didn't say it before, I'm saying it now.
Being an adult is tiring!
