Chapter 54 - Continuing her studies.

After making her mother quit work at the jewelry shop, they both returned back to their house.

Mo Xiaye didn't reprimand Mo Ning for acting without consulting her first. She understood that she had to quit sooner or later since they were moving soon. It just happened earlier than planned.

" From what you were saying to that young lady earlier, I won't be wrong to say she was one of the reasons you lost your former job right? "

" You're totally right mom. She was the little thorn on my flesh. " Mo Ning replied feeling quiet satisfied with herself.

It was really so easy to get Meng Zhaofei in a bad mood which was rare.

" Anyway, Xiao Ning why did you come looking for me at work? I'm sure it's not because you just wanted to help me quit my job. "

" Of course it wasn't. I wanted to speak to you so I came here but you were at work I just had to come. " Mo Ning said with a shrug.

" So why were you looking for me miss Mo Ning? "

" Miss Mo Xiaye I wanted to discuss our new apartment with you. "

" Okay let's be serious young lady what do you want to discuss?"

" Mom to be honest with you, I wanted to discuss what happened with the landlord the other day. I don't think he did that because he wanted to. " She paused to observe her mother's reaction to her words. It seems like she isn't surprised she thought." I think he was either paid to do it, or he was threatened to do it. But that isn't the issue now, the main issue is who exactly is behind this? "

" Even I have suspected that someone else behind the scene is responsible for this. But as you've said who is that person and what is the motive?" Mo Xiaye asked before letting out a sigh.

What if her daughter didn't have the money to purchase or even rent another apartment would they be thrown out on the streets?

And what reason did whoever is responsible for all this have, to want to drive them into a dead end?

Although she didn't have the answer to these questions, she was very happy that neither she nor her daughter would have to experience life on the streets. She was also glad that she had no reason to go to the Mo family to ask for any favours.

She had made a promise to herself from the day her father decided to disown her that unless she had something to her name, unless she was at a point in her life where her life wasn't any different from the life she had before that, she would never step foot into the Mo family mansion.

She didn't mind breaking that promise for her daughter to live a comfortable life. But she was extremely glad she didn't get into a situation where she needed to break that promise.

Now that her daughter's life was shaping up, she decided that once she gets another job after the move, she would continue her studies.

She knew she didn't need to go into a classroom before she could get her degree.

She didn't mind if she was considered too old to complete her studies, she knew one thing which was for sure, knowledge is power. It is never too late to learn because learning is a continuous process in life.

So what if she was already thirty six years old?

What if in a few years, she would have grand kids scattered all around?

It wouldn't stop her from achieving her dreams in life. After all, it is never too late to pursue what you want in life as long as you have the courage and the will to do it, the sky is only but your starting point.
