Mo Ning sat on the bed, her back against the headboard, with her knees to her chest and her arms wrapped around her legs.
She was staring into space like a lost soul. She was like a child seeking her father and mother's love. A child who needed to be cuddled because she had had a terrible nightmare.
After that day,she had thought that everything was over;but clearly, it wasn't.
She was just being delusional the whole time thinking that everything had ended and been left behind in that hotel room.
Slowly, tears began to trickle down her eyes and in no time, it poured out like a day that had been closed for years was finally opened again and the water was trying to fight its way out.
What did people think of her?
That she didn't have any grievances?
That they could easily bully her whenever they like because she didn't have anyone to back her up?
Did they think that if she really needed a backer that it would be something hard?
Did they know how many men would willingly take up the role of a backer if she so wished?
Of course they didn't!
No body understood anything. Because she always tried to be strong, did that make her invisible?
Did that make her a person without feelings?
She hasn't even made it yet but they'll were trying to surprise her already.
All kinds of thoughts continued to run through her mind. So many emotions she had tried to suppress over the years wanted to be free.
People always told her that she was extremely narcissistic but they didn't understand that her narcissism was a protective weapon that she had carefully crafted for herself and overtime, it became a large and natural part of her.
Was there really any thing as a strong person in this world?
Didn't everybody have that one fear in them that makes them want to modify themselves?
Didn't they just hide under the illusion of a facade that they had created on their own for themselves?
Her thoughts were still running rampant when a knock sounded at her door. Followed by another and then another but she was too far gone to hear it. It only sounded as a music from a distance away to her ears.
After knocking for a while and still not getting any response, Leng Manyun decided to try her luck maybe the door was open. She turned the door know and surprisingly, it was open.
She was stunned upon seeing Mo Ning's haggard appearance but in order not to scare her, she walked gently until she got to her. She saw the tears that continued to flow down her face endlessly without any sign of wanting to stop.
She didn't know the cause of the tears but she wrapped her arms around Mo Ning to calm her down. Even as she held her in her arms, she continued whispering soothing words by her ears.
What could have happened to make this cheerful and energetic young lady to breakdown in this manner? She thought.
