Chapter 157 - Fresh Air

Alright.

Ahem... okay. Lets uh... get into this.

Materials to make and weapons to create. Where do we start though, all these materials are of very high quality obviously... but making gimmicks for items doesn't seem to positively effect them, those boots I made were a good example as their abilities were more in line with an amulet or ring as opposed to boots. I'd rather just have the first rocket boots I made but... I sold them off years and years ago, no way I'm getting them back now.

I think I need something for long range mobility, the mini warp skill on the boots is nice for close quarters and getting up to high places but my top speed is still very low especially compared to other mounts. Mounts... huh. Should I make a Chimera? It's been a while and I haven't really done anything with Chimeramancy for permanent Chimeras. The Blood thing I made at Blossom Tree only lasted like... four minutes total? Five? Eh... doesn't matter.

Let's make a Chimera.

What Chimera type should I make though? Material or Corpse based? Flight or Speed? Should I prepare it for use in combat or just to focus on movement?

It's a question alright, I don't have much research on this topic especially considering there isn't that many Battle Alchemists or Similar classes, if there is then they like to keep their stuff secret... not a word about it on the Forums. So I think I just gotta... improvise? I think flight will be a huge part of it and while having it based on corpse makes it overall stronger... material based are more pliable and well, not alive. That means I won't have to feed it or anything.

I got this entire Chimeramancy section of magic, and nothing to show for it! I know very slim amounts of usable information on this Magic, the spells themselves are all bullshit for either making temporary Chimeras or buffs. Do I even need to base the Chimera off an animal? What if I just make a stealth bomber and say it's a Chimera?

Huh.

You know, that actually sounds cool as fuck. Making a living stealth bomber? Holy shit that sounds cool, maybe I could do a fighter jet or a Floating Hangar! There is so many options... oh... I just don't know where to start. Maybe first I should start small.

Hover Tanks and Jets can't be that different to make right?

I'll start by making a single person Jet, no weapons or bombing storage for now... just what's needed for the Jet itself. First we are going to need a frame obviously, so for that I'm thinking Feather Storm based Special Metal. Jeez I really need to think of a name for that... anyhow, the frame should be lightweight considering the material and the effects of said material should be able to provide a good benefit.

The Frame consisted of a large pyramid type shape from the cone, following it down the edge leads to a large square jet intake, after that the body slowly forms behind with four large sets of curved wings with the tail ending off in two split endings like a whale's tail. It's shape is a bit weird as of now, but it's going to be filled in and reshaped with it's outer shell... the inside doesn't matter much cosm-

* Squack! *

...

They are spawning more and more... there are way more here than last time, these harpies... damn. Feathered Bastards. Well it's a good thing as well, I can get more of their feathers to get some more of that mana... not a bad deal, but considering I can cast the magic now it's not specifically needed. Either way it's good to have, takes a lot less energy to make then from scratch.

I feed them roasted fish, about an arm's amount of fish each to satisfy these surprisingly hungry ones... is it because they are getting more intelligent? I've heard it takes a lot more energy to keep a more intelligent brain active, brains of birds are nowhere as near as big or complex as humans so the transition might be a little weird for them, they need more energy and all of a sudden are thinking differently.

After that short break to collect feathers, I moved on to the actual complicated bits of the Jet... I got to prepare a coded system for the controls... a body ... windows... implement fuel and output... that might be it, the system may or may not decide that is enough to qualify as a functioning jet and finish it up. So that's going to be my plan for today.

Let's get this done quick and fast, so what do I need to make a body of a Jet plane? I don't think it's just metal plates, there is like some sort of ceramic or plaster cover over metal plates... is that right? I should of payed attention during the war, I might of been able to copy down some design notes on their planes... well, it's too late now... there isn't any other reference to the war besides memory anymore.

Maybe I can find something about it on the forums...

...

What the fuck is a polycarbonate? Acrylic? Plexiglass?

I'm not making that shit, I don't have a fucking engineering degree!

How the fuck did humans even find out about this shit in the first place? This is super fucking complicated for no fucking reason... despite that, I need some sort of coating and sealant... I'm not making modern materials though, this shit is super complicated for something I could probably replicate easily using magic.

Any ideas System?

You could try making an Argus based coating |

What the fuck is an Argus? That shit sounds like a Greek god.

Argus was a material discovered by an infamous player ' Greata ' who mapped the entire world of StarDuster. The Material was found the ruins of what could of been a floating city, it's lightweight, springy, and most of all it can resist malformation at high speeds and strikes. |

Ah, so it would be perfect more the coat... I don't need to strike or bend it physically to form it into a coating, and the material is just excellent when it comes to what I need. How much is it on the player market?

For a fresh slab, it would be around 16 Plat an ingot. For used material however, the price drops steadily at 20 gold an ingot. |

My guess is that it's used for forges and carving out strong blunt instruments then... without the ability to mold it like an alchemist, it wouldn't have much other purpose. The used material sounds like it's been carved out... and the left over bits are the scraps that can't be used huh?

You... actually guessed correctly! |

Hehe... aren't I clever. Well, order up like... 8 tons maybe? I'll likely need more, but this should be fine for now.

Confirmed, your order has been placed in your inventory. |

Alright! Now we can get cooking!
