Panicking, he grabbed the grimoire and start to read it.
"This grimoire is a battle against the other demon to select the new ruler of demons."
Upon reading this part, Volom started to panic but continued reading the grimoire.
"The battle is a battle royal that has no rules. As long as the other grimoire is burnt, you will win."
Reading this portion gave Volom headaches.
"The demon that survive till the end will become the demon king while the contractor is allowed to have a single wish fulfilled by the new demon king. If you agree to the contract, please place your thumbprint with your blood on the page."
"Shit! How to cancel the contract?"
"Once agreed, if the contractor tries to escape the battle, his soul is be dragged to the abyss."
"Damn it all! How unlucky!"
At this point, all Volom could do was to cry out loud that due to a broken glass, he was forced to enter a battle.
From the corner of his eye, he saw that the next page of the grimoire was glowing and flipped to the next page to see a magic circle pulsing with light with the words Summoning Circle on it.
Remembering that his soul will be dragged to the abyss if he does not agree to take part in the battle, he read the pages which involve the summoning of the demon.
