Chapter 92 - Chapter 9: GENIUS(PART-1)

Inside a small room with a simple bed and table, Grant could be seen standing behind Zerwa.

"Here learn it."

*Thump*

Zerwa said as she threw almost half of Grant's size in front of him.

Grant could see a look on his teacher's face which said [This is normal].

Then Grant focused his attention back onto the book.

And unsurprisingly he couldn't understand what was written on top of it.....

'It's written in a different language.....', The corners of Grant's mouth couldn't help but twitch as he started wondering whether he has met a fraud or something.

Learn from the book? Sure! but tell me this...

What's the use of you then?

If I am supposed to learn from the book anyway then why do I need a teacher?

A fraud!

"These are the very basics of magic theory, you just need to memorize them, I can't help you with that. Oh and here you go", Not minding Grant's resentful gaze Zerwa raised her hand as a white beam entered Grant's forehead.

An entirely new language was imprinted in Grant's mind in a second, quickly turning his head he could now clearly understand what was written on top of the book. It said [Basic guide to Magic theory].

Instead of opening the book, Grant stared at Zerwa with a weird expression on his face.

"What?", Zerwa said while tilting her head.

Grant hesitated for some time before finally opening his mouth.

"Well...why don't teachers just directly impart magic knowledge to my brain like the language just now?"

"Oh you were wondering about that"

A mysterious smile blossomed on Zerwa's face as she said in a charming voice.

"Do you want me to?"

Grant felt that something wasn't right with the way she was talking.

"On the second thought, I think I don't want to."

Zerwa noded as she said.

"It's good that you understand after all if I were to really transfer my knowledge over to you then your brain will end up exploding into tiny bits."

'Then what about transferring it in parts', Grant stopped himself from saying that, he felt as if something horrible would happen if he were to do so.

"Well then make sure to learn it all within the next few days.", Saying so Zerwa quickly left the room.

Grant shakes his head, he felt that this master of his didn't seem reliable at all.

Instead of complaining, Grant quickly lifted the magic book which was half his size, and opened it up, and read the first line.

[Magic is like a girl in heat she wants you to use it and at the same time it doesn't]

Grant stared at the only line written on this page with dead eyes. he calmly closed the cover and turned the book around.

At the bottom of the backside, he found his answer.

[Written by Goddess Of Magic, The Great Zerwa!!!]

She even had the nerves to write exclamatory marks after her name.

Shameless!!

He was really starting to doubt whether or not he will be learning magic or something else entirely.

Releasing a sigh Grant called out in his mind.

'Can I learn the content of this book?'

[1500 divine points will be required, do you want to learn it?]

'Is it really possible to do anything with these divine points....', Grant wondered as he stared at the screen in front of him before agreeing.

A sudden sense of heaviness hit Grant as the new knowledge rushed into his head.

Magic theory, Ruin Craft, Magic Tattoo ...the basics of many different fields of magic rushed into his head making him feel nauseated and wonderful a the same time.

What would have usually taken other a long time to do was completed by him in an instant.

'But...'

Grant looked at his remaining divine points.

[Divine Soul-(SSS)]

-Power to bend reality to your will.

Divine points- 18510]

His divine points stopped increasing around a half-a-year ago, unfortunately, Grant has been unable to find the source of divine points even now.

'Ii shouldn't use divine points unless necessary....'

After all, they were his best trump card.

'Now that I have the basic knowledge let's give it a try

Grant raised his finger as a small blue coloured light extended from it.

Using the small light sword, Grant started carving weird symbols on the wooden table before him.

[2 Days later.]

"I wonder if he made any progress....", Zerwa muttered in a sleepy voice.

What a joke!

The task she had given Grant was impossible, to begin with, forget making progress she would be satisfied as long as he didn't throw away the book.

That doesn't mean that the boo was a fraud or anything.

It is indeed a legit magic basics book, it's just that it was written by none other than her...

What does that mean?

Well, let me give you an example.

Let's take the subject physics that all must be familiar with, you see there is one main book of physics which is issued by the examination by that particular country or state for let's say class 12.

The level of the book isn't so high as long as the student is diligent he or she will be able to understand the book easily.

Now here comes the thing.

Now that you know about textbooks you must have also heard about help books right?

In fact, others might say it is a help book and you might even like it when you just start studying from it.

But as you go deeper you would understand the horror of these help books.

You see help books indeed help books....it's just that they are meant for teachers, not the students....

You should only use help books when you have understood that chapter from the textbook.

Now the one Zerwa gave Grant was even worse than a help book.

The book is like her own short notes she made after reaching the pinnacle of magic, it is not meant to teach others but for her to remember something in case she forgot.

'Should I bring something to console him?', Zerwa wondered as she started making her way towards Grant's room.

As for why she messed with her disciple?

It was to make him learn humility.

She could tell that although the kid acted respected in front of her deep down he was someone with excessive pride.

Zerwa imagined herself consoling Grant and then teaching him to magic personally making the kid revere her like the god she is.

Hmm for some reason she felt a bit excited thinking she will be consoling her disciple.....

Perhaps spending centuries alone in this tower was finally getting to her?

Zerwa's pace increased unknowingly as she arrived before Grant's room.

*Bam*

Not bothering to knock she directly slammed open the door and entered the room with a smile o her face.

"Disciple master is here to check your progres...."

Her voice grew smaller and smaller as she looked at the scene in front of her.

"Good morning master", Grant said in a respectful tone as he made a strange symbol with his hand making the flying bed come back down.

From the side, a flying brush, toothpaste, and water flew out, and started cleaning Grant's teeth.

Zerwa's mouth was wide opened when she saw a pair of shoes walking on their own and smoothly getting on Grant's feet.

"Y-y-you---"

Zerwa pointed at him with a shaking finger when she saw the mark on Grant's forehead shinning brightly.

"Ah master I have completed mastering the book you gave me."

With a clap of Grant's hands, the magic book flew from the table and landed in his hands.

"Is it time to start the next lesson then."

There was a bright smile on Grant's face as he looked at his master.

"....."
