Chapter 101 - Chapter 21: Who?(Part-1)

Sitting inside his tent, Grant's eyes were closed as he kept muttering something in an unknown language.

Suddenly he raised his hand and said.

"[Light]"

A basic tier 1 light attribute spell.

Unfortunately nothing happened.

Grant opened his eyes and seeing his empty hand he wasn't disappointed, the results were within his expectations after all.

Concentrating on his hand, Grant started pushing his mana towards it.

In no time a small sphere of light appeared above his palm illuminating the inside of the tent.

Looking at the small sphere Grant shaked his head in disappointment as he dispersed the ball of light.

"It is too difficult and inefficient to cast spells of attribute I do not have an affinity with, looks like divine points is the best alternative but I would much rather not waste them if possible...."

Grant muttered as he got up and went outside the tent, the full armoured guards standing outside quickly greeted him, stepping out Grant looked at the morning sky.

It's been three weeks since the he left the Imperial Capital, unfortunately the distance between the capital and the Stella Fort wasn't something which could be covered in a small amount of time not to mention that they were travelling with an army of 200,000 plus soldiers to boot.

It's not like Grant hadn't thought about just directly flying to Stella Fort and then dropping some tier 8th or 9th spells on the demon exterminating them.....

But the problem is what next?

He wasn't going to repair the fort neither was he going to stand guard in case the demons decided to retake the fort.

Most importantly who was going to clean the tens of thousands of dead bodies after he was done with the battle?

Him? No way!

And in either case Grant would have to wait till the army reached Stella Fort so it was better to just travel with them.

Grant manage to locate the command centre as he entered the place.

Unlike last time the nobody was staring at him like he was some sort of exotic animal, when they saw him they greeted him politely but then left soon after to continue their work.

In the past few weeks everyone present here has gotten familiar with Grant and thus they treated him more casually now.

Grant found a good place and then sat down, silently listening to their talk, enriching his knowledge about the battle to pass time.

Not soon after Grant let out a yarn, it's already been weeks he was getting bored now.....

While Grant was wondering how much longer he will have to put up with this journey.

Something caught his attention.

Grant raised his eyebrow as he detected a figure quickly rushing towards the tent with a group of soldiers chasing behind it.

"Hey stop! I told you the commander is busy right now!"

"You can't go there! Quickly grab him."

"How dare you act so brazenly in the Empire's territory!"

By now everyone in the tent has noticed the small commotion as they wondered what it was about.

Was someone rebelling?

"Let me have a look."

A middle-aged man stood up with a frown on his face as he parted the tent ready to punish the ones making the commotion.

Unfortunately he will never be able to forget what happened next

"You all useles---umph"

A foot stepped on the general's face and gracefully entered the tent.

"What audacity!!"

"Who the hell is this!"

The entire tent went up in a commotion as shouts filled with anger rand out.

Grant ignored their ranting as he got a better look at the person.

Fully covered in dark blue armour from head to toe, there was the emblem of the Lumia Kingdom pasted on the person's shoulder with a silver sword hanging on his side.

"Get him!"

With an angry shout everyone in the tent except Grant pulled out their weapons as they lunged at the newcomer.

With skillful movements the person in blue armour avoided the blades and counterattacked using his sword.

While the little battle was going on, the guards quickly rushed in with flushed faces as they directly hacked at the blue armoured person without any second thoughts.

Surprisingly the one in blue armour was still on the winning side! Whether it be skills or level the blue armoured person was way above the rest of them.

Still there is a limit to stamina, feeling threatened, the one in blue hurriedly looked around the place while somehow dodging all the attacks.

"Dammit all of you cannot even deal with one person!, Useless!!!"

The one standing in fron of Grant shouted as he also rushed in with heavy steps.

Although he was sent flying right after....

Suddenly the one in blue armour managed to find a gap between the attacks and slip away.

But out of everyone's expectations instead of running the person ran towards another direction.

"Wait that---"

The person who was speaking quickly shut his mouth as the entire place fell silent.

'I am just a harmless spectator so why this happening to me?'

A wry smile appeared on Grant's face as he looked down as the blade pressed against his neck.

The person in blue managed to jump behind him and was now using him as a shield to stop others.

"Don't move otherwise his head will fly off."

The crisp voice of a woman came out from the blue armour as she threateningly pushed the blade closer to Grant's neck.

But instead of getting intimidated, a funny look appeared on everyone's faces as they stared at the scene.

We were just going to capture you at most but this.....

Hmm if you want to court death then go ahead.

The woman in blue armour was stunned as she saw everyone's expression.

'Don't tell me he isn't someone important?'

'But he was sitting on the most grand looking seat....dammit how could I make such a mistake!'

The sound of footsteps rang out as a new group of soldiers lead by an old man rushed into the tent.

It was none other than Duke Empitone.

"What is going on here?"

Empitone said with a stern expression on his face as he came before the scene.

When the Duke saw a blade pressed against Grant's throat, his expression became grave.

Someone from the crowd quickly explained the situation to him in a small voice.

After listening to the man Empitone calmed down a little as he stared at the crest present on the blue armoured woman's shoulder.

"Is this the stand of the Lumia Kingdom?"

Hearing his calm voice, the people in the crowd who knew the Duke couldn't help but shiver.

Duke Empitone was pissed!

He was officially pissed right now!

Actually when they thought about it, suddenly a random person somehow managed to reach the core area of the army and even placed a blade against their saviour's neck, while Duke Empitone was responsible for the entire expenditure.....

I mean anyone in his shoes would be seething with anger right now.

It would have been weird if he wasn't pissed!

"Is the Limia Kingdom colluding with the demons? You better give me a satisfying answer or you can forget about leaving this tent alive!"

Surprisingly the woman in blue armoured wasn't intimidated by the Duke's aura as she asked in a calm voice.

"I am here to meet the Hero selected by the Goddess."

"....."

This time even Duke Empitone had a weird look on his face, he looked at Grant and then  the sword pressed against his neck then he looked back at the woman in armour as if he was looking at an idiot.

So you want to meet the Hero?

Hehe even I am feeling speechless right now....

Simply wonderful!

Suddenly a sigh resonated throughout the tent attracting everyone's attention.

*Grab*

With his hand, Grant grabbed the blade of the sword.

The woman in blue armour frowned seeing his action but before she could warn him, a shocking scene took place.

*Crack*

"....."

With a light push of his hand, the sword broke in two.

Yes it broke in two.

The people present felt their throats run dry as they speechlessly stared at the broken sword.

Are you even human?

"This is yours I presume."

The woman blankly stared at the upper half of her sword which Grant was moving around his finger like a plaything.

"Nice to meet you my name is Grant Ashdown....."

Grant paused as a holy smile appeared on his face.

"Oh and I am the Hero selected by the Goddess."
