We arrive back at the house with me in the lead and Angela right behind me. We park and get out of our cars. "Ohhh, you know I would've had you if it wasn't for that cement truck." "Sure honey. Sure you would have." She rolls her eyes. "Anyways, what are we going to do now?" "I thought you could go and sort out the closet while I go and work on a project of my own." "Oh, ok." "Hey, and if you get lonely, just come find me." "Ok." Angela walks away with her bags, disappearing into the bedroom. I walk under the stairs and into a mechanic shop a few doors down the hall. I walk over to a radio and turn it on to The Eagles before walking over to a 1973 Ford C-600 COE semi truck. Sitting next to it on a stand is a 1253 horsepower Cummins twin turbo racing diesel engine. I open up the cab and pick up where I left off, cutting out the rust and rewiring the dash. A few hours pass when I hear someone enter the shop. "Richard?" I hear Angela call. I hop out of the truck and walk over to her. "Hey sweetie. What's up?" "Just coming to see what you were doing. What is that thing?" "That thing is my current project. I'm turning it into a drift truck." "Need help? Not that I'll be much." "Actually, I was just wrapping up to come and make dinner." "Oh, alright then." I take her hand and we walk to the kitchen. "What is for dinner?" "Shepards Pie. Made with my own home grown vegetables." "That. Sounds absolutely delicious." "I agree." Behind us, the oven beeps. "Speak of the devil." I walk over and pull the pie out of the oven, the smell filling the air. "Movie?" "Why not." " Then follow me." I take the pie back down the hall and to the right, into a large theater. I take Angela to a massive rack of movies. "Take your pick while I dish out the food." I take the pie over to a table in the back and serve up two plates full. I come back over to Angela, who has gotten down A River Runs Through It. "That your choice?" "Yea. It's one of my favorites." I hand her her plate before going and plugging the movie in. I come back over and sit down next to Angela, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before digging into the pie. As I sit there with her, I realize that this was the start of the rest of our lives.
