20 minutes later...
Clinton lay on his bed, looking at the ceiling.
[What is it?]
[Yeah, of course. The restriction is that no one should have any idea of your skills or inhuman abilities before the one year period is up.]
[What is it?]
1 hour later...
[What the heck! You seriously just got yourself out of the orphanage by adopting yourself!?]
[Where's the !@#$%^& difference!?]
[I don't get it! How is that different from you adopting yourself!?]
[So what's the point!?]
[I think I'm going to go crazy if I keep talking to you. So, I'm going to shut down for a few hours. Bye]
<... Hello?>
Silence.
Silence.
[Game mode activated.]
Clinton's vision turned dark, and after a few seconds, he was back in the Ring of Space.
[Ding. Skill {Phantom Cast} has been copied.]
Skill: {Phantom Cast} (Level 1) (Active Skill)
Description: User can create a phantom of himself that looks exactly like himself and can confuse the enemy. The phantoms will have the same stats as the user and can execute skills, movement, and attacks but cannot deal any damage and the skills cast do not have any effect.
Consumption: 5,000 mana upon activation
Cooldown: 30 minutes
Duration: 1 minute
⦑Hmm. Not a bad skill. I guess I could just spend my time here getting familiar with the skills that I have. Good thing I asked for 2 months time in this space even though I only need like a week to copy the skills. {Phantom Cast}.⦒ Beside Clinton, another person appeared beside him. It looked like Clinton. At first, everything seemed to be alright. The fake Clinton moved smoothly, then stopped. The real Clinton moved, and then stopped. Then the fake Clinton moved, then stopped again. The problem was obvious. Clinton could not control both his own body and the phantom at the same time.
"Ahhhhhh!" the real Clinton screamed. "How the heck did those people in the novels even controlled their phantoms!? God dang it! This is like trying to solve a physics equation while trying to analyze a Middle English text at the same freaking time!"
"Alright, calm down, calm down," Clinton said to himself. He took a deep breath. "Okay, let's do this." And... nothing happened. The phantom that Clinton had created disappeared. Another problem had just surfaced. The skill {Phantom Cast} created a phantom that would only last for a minute at most, but the cooldown for the skill was half an hour, which really doesn't give much time for practice. Even if you add up all the minutes for like a week, which would be about 336 minutes if you didn't waste a single minute (which is basically impossible if you ask me), but even with that amount of time it' really hard to practice something if the time is split up so much.
(You don't have to read this part but I suggest that you do. For the stuff I mentioned up there about why it's not really effective even with all the time, here is an explanation. Think of it as you trying to do a long run with a speed of 3km/hour with the total time of 30 minutes to train your endurance but you run for 1 minute each time with like 20 minutes of resting and relaxing in between each minute of running. You're probably not going to be much fitter than how you originally were. If you do get more muscles exercising that way it's because 1) you don't really work out normally, 2) you never really worked out so this actually helped you since it was your first time working out, 3) you cheated and just ran like way faster than the speed of 3km/hour every minute of running, 4) you're a little kid or another unfit person whose top speed is like 4km/hour or lower, or 5) you're just outright lying. By the way if you actually do get muscles from that "exercising strategy" but it was not because of the 5 reasons I mentioned please tell me about it as well as also why it worked because I would gladly go try that out so I can stay fit while being lazy and not moving around much. And no, I don't exercise much except for when school's PE class or my mom forces me.)
