Ryan had made it a goal to keep running around until the pups woke up, at the time it seemed like a good idea, however, there was an unexpected variable that he overlooked and that was how long it would take for them to wake up. He had been running nonstop for about 1 hour and 53 minutes and there was still no sign from them.
He for the last half-hour he had been debating on stopping and waking them up but he shook his head and thought "That's what you get for making your stupid goals, now suck it up and feel the burn."
After another, another 12 minutes Fand Pup and the other 3 pups appeared from the entrance of the den. Ryan let out a relieved sigh and let his body fall to the ground panting hard.
The four pups walked over to him and looked confused "Hi Viper Pup, what are you doing? You look really sick."
He looked at the silver pup and felt tempted to smack the damn pup for waking up so late but he controlled himself and took a deep breath. "I was waiting for you guys to appear, it's about time that you wake up."
Fang Pup's ears and tail got lowered and he revealed a guilty expression," Sorry about that, I was having a really good dream. I was running with the rest of the pack and I was so big and strong. Then you and I found a monster and we beat him together."
Ryan looked at the young pup and shook his head as he thought "Great while you were having the dream of your life I was in hell because of my own stubbornness haha."
Fang Pup began wagging his tail and he asked "So what are we going to do now Viper Paw? Are we going to drag each other with the vines to get stronger, or are we going to play in the pool again?"
He shook his head and smiled "Nah, before that wake up the rest of the pups, and then I'll explain what we are going to do."
The silver pup nodded and began running back to the den, he was surprised when he heard a small high pitched howl. He looked at the 3 pups that had stayed, with a confused look. Cloud Pup shook her head and sighed "That's the new call that Fang Pup came up with, he heard the warriors howl and saw how it got others to go to them so he decided that we should also do the same."
Ryan nodded and laughed on the inside "This kid, probably scared the heck out of those sleeping pups haha."
A few minutes seconds later Fang Pup came out of the den running faster than Ryan had ever seen him. Behind him, 7 pups were chasing after him and they didn't seem too happy.
The small silver wolf hid behind him and used him as a wall since the other pups wouldn't disrespect him. The biggest if the pups walked forward and looked at the hiding pup "Viper Pup you have to make sure that he doesn't do that again. We agreed to have that be a signal to group up yesterday but we do not like being woken up like that."
Ryan was dying of laughter on the inside but he made sure to keep his composure on the outside. He had seen before how angry the pups get if they think that he was making fun of them.
He nodded and looked at each one of the pups "Fine Stone Pup, we can agree to use howling as a method to get together and not as a sort of wake up call. The thing is that if you guys sleep in then we should be able to wake up with a little scare don't you think. Each one of us will have a responsibility when we grow up so we have to train to wake up on time. Is that understood?"
They all nodded and began to stretch, he could see that some of them were looking at Fire Claw, Wave Whip, and Ash Fur, who were working, with curiosity.
Ryan stood up and took a deep breath as he began to move his sore body "Today there are some new training areas that are going to be built. While Fire Claw, Wave Whip, and Ash Fur we will be strengthening our legs some more.
"Now tell me if someone gave you the option of being the strongest or the fastest which would you choose?"
Fang Pup raised his paw and began speaking as his tail moved from side to side "That's easy, I would prefer to be the strongest, no one can beat you if you are always stronger than them."
Several pups looked at Fang Paw and nodded. Ryan looked at the young pup and smiled, he looked around and found a small grasshopper on the grass. He pointed at it and looked at the silver pup.
You are stronger and bigger than that bug over there, go and beat it. Fang Pup looked at him confused but nodded, he lowered his body and began to try. When he was close enough he jumped up and tried to squish it with his paws.
The grasshopper quickly jumped away, in the end, Fang Pup followed it all over the place until he lost it. After searching for a few minutes he ran back to the group with his tail and ears drooping down.
Ryan patted his head "Don't feel bad, honestly, that grasshopper was a lot faster than I expected it to be hehe. But at least you guys got to see how important speed is. According to father, we are part of the Tempest Clan and the thing we are best at is our speed. Don't get me wrong though strength is also important however what good is it to be super strong if you can't catch whatever it is you want to beat. Also if you are in trouble you can run away and survive. Speed is also strength, for example, which one do you think will hurt more, if Fang Pup walked towards you or if he ran into you. Our training is making our body stronger however we can't forget to work harder on our legs since they are the one part of our body that we will always be using."
The pups began to wag their tails excitedly, Fang Pup jumped forward wagging his tail "So what are we going to do, now Viper Pup, how are we going to get fast and strong as you said."
Ryan smiled and led the group of pups to a corner where no one would be stepping in "I'm going to need you to dig a hole that is big enough for you to enter. After that I want you to fill it up and dig it again a total of 20 times. Then we will be taking a break and running again until the sun goes down."
Stone Pup looked at the ground and then at Ryan "Seriously you want us to dig? How is this going to make us stronger?"
He shook his head and gave a mischievous look at the gray pup "Have I ever let you guys down."
Stone Pup shook his head, "Great then start digging, trust me you'll understand once you start digging."
The Pups started digging and by the time they finished most of them were rolling around and panting. Ryan laughed hard on the inside and thought "Bet none of ya thought it was going to be this hard haha."
They took a break and began jogging for a while, since the pups had gotten used to carrying around extra weight they could jog for about 5 hours with no problems other than sore paws. They got something to eat and Ryan consumed the core. He then went to check on the new course and found that it was all done and ready to use.
He yawned and went back to the den for some good sleep.
