Chapter 7 - Wake Up Call

In the morning Ryan had to fight his way out of the surrounding pups. No matter how hard he had tried to wake them up no one budged. He shook his head 'Come on you guys are young you should be full of energy.'

When he was finally out of Pup Mountain he began to head outside. It was the first day that the mothers weren't in the cave when he woke up so there was no one to make him wait till the others woke up to get out of the cave.

He was about to leave but he heard someone behind him. When he turned around to take a look he found Fang Pup and another 3 others with him. He turned back to the entrance and left with the 4 pups behind him.

After he felt the sun and wind on his fur he began to stretch and look around to see what was going on. He found that all wolves were laying down next to a large rock and talking.

He ignored them and went back to the spot that they were in the day before. Ryan looked at the pups and couldn't help but smile as they were walking awkwardly. They were obviously still half asleep, Fang Pup had even stumbled and now his fur was covered by dirt.

Ryan was laughing on the inside 'how are these little guys supposed to work out when they look like this.'

He looked at them "I need you four to stay here okay I'll be back. I have an idea of how to have some fun."

They looked at him surprised when he told them that they were going to have fun. They began wagging their tails as they remembered how much fun they had when they had their training the previous day.

When they nodded he ran to where the adults were and looked for his mother. He found her with a group of females, gossiping about the males.

"Oh, can you believe the size of the boar that Thorn Fur caught?"

"That Grass Fang needs to start getting better at hunting or he won't find anything."

"Oh my, look at the way Sun Blaze looks like when he runs."

Ryan shook his head 'My god looks like men can't ever get away from women.'

He cleared his throat to make sure that they noticed he was there. That quickly got the attention of the group of wolves. His mother quickly stood up and began nuzzling him.

"Hello my little one, do you need something?" she asked.

Ryan was still a little weirded out by the conversation that he had just heard but he regained his composure and nodded. "Mother I was going to train and some of the pups wanted to join me but they were still kinda asleep. I was wondering if you could find Flame Claw, and two wolves with water and fire ability."

"What weird thing are you going to do now Viper Pup". asked a voice that he knew very well.

He looked around and found the other mother that was with them in the cave. Her voice had always scared him because she had always shown her strict side.

"It's nothing weird I'm just going to help them wake up", he answered.

His mother helped him find Flame Claw and together they asked the other two to join them. Ryan's mother introduced the two, she started off with a blue wolf who had scales and not fur.

"His name is Ash Fur". Ryan nodded but on the inside, he was thinking 'Wow that is just cruel why call the poor guy Fur if he has scales.'

She then walked to a wolf with a Red Pelt and introduced him. "His name is Sun Blaze."

Ryan gave another small greeting with his head, 'Well done buddy you actually made the smart choice of using your name as a theme for your evolution, I approve. Wait a minute Sun Blaze... wasn't he the one the groups of female wolves were talking about?'

He gave an evil grin on the inside, "Sun Blaze it's a pleasure to meet you, I've heard a bit about you. May I ask if you can give me some pointers on my running skills sometime?"

His mother immediately gave him an evil glare and showed her fangs. The others were behind her so they didn't notice.

Ryan got a shiver down his back. 'Note to self, don't ever piss her off again.'

Sun Blaze got closer "You bet buddy just let me know when."

Ryan thanked him. His mother looked back at the group she was with and noticed that they were watching them. She turned around and looked at Ryan again "Do you need anything else son?"

He was taken by surprise; it was the first time that he was called son since he was reincarnated. He nodded his head "Mother I was wondering if you could tell me your name?"

She got closer to him and rubbed her snout across the top of his head "My name is Star Light", she replied.

Ryan nodded 'Looks like Sun Blaze isn't the only one smart enough to make his name a theme. I like it fits her white pelt.'

He led Flame Claw, Ash Fur, and Sun Blaze back to where he had left the pups. Then he pointed at a corner in the clearing. When they arrived he turned around and asked the group "Can you guys produce water and fire?"

Both Ash Fur and Sun Blaze nodded. He looked at Flame Claw, "Can you dig a small hole that is wide enough for 12 pups?"

In a few minutes, Flame Claw had dug a hole that was wide enough to fit almost double that number and about 6'' deep. The wolves seemed to get an idea of what he was planning. Ash filled the hole with water and then Ryan asked Sun Blaze to heat up the water with his fire.

When they were done he touched the water with his paw and nodded it was the right temperature. He walked towards them and thanked them, the pups began looking at the miniature pool in interest.

Ryan sneaked behind them and pushed them in. They let out a yelp in surprise before falling down. All four of them were laughing at the surprised pups, he looked at Flame Claw and gave out an evil giggle.

"We still have another 7 lazy pups can you guys help me out". They all nodded laughing and one by one the pups were picked up from the cave and thrown into the "pool".

After giving enough time for the pups to have their fun Ryan made them play tag again for the day. He figured that he still had time to train so he would take it a bit slow on them.

At the end of the day, he fell asleep and once again Pup Mountain was formed.
