Chapter 4 - "Training"

Ryan drank until he felt that his body couldn't take it anymore "good hopefully this way I can at least delay from having to do it again for a little longer".

When he stopped and shifted his head away from the mother, she stood up, shifted towards him, and began licking the top of his head.

"Thank god, my child, I thought you were going to starve to death".

Ryan couldn't help but grunt, 'you have no idea. Thanks to that grumpy old man I'm stuck here... Wait a minute so it was you the one I heard earlier'.

His body got a cold chill "I can now understand wolves, would that also mean that I'm going to be able to understand other animals".

Ryan was thinking that after he gained a human form he would communicate with humans. Now that he might be able to understand animals and humans he couldn't help but imagine how chaotic it would be.

His mother must have felt his body give out a slight shiver because she suddenly moved even closer warming him up.

As time passed by he began to be able to gain more and more strength allowing him to at least drag his body. After dragging his body he kept meeting with dead ends, the first time he arrived on one he ended up hitting his head on what felt like a stone wall.

Ryan kept his goal and mind and he knew that to complete it he would need strength. Since he couldn't hunt yet he decided that working out would give him some physical gain. Unfortunately, he couldn't stabilize his body yet.

After what felt like a week of trying he was able to stand, but as soon as he tried to take a step his body crashed to the floor. "Damn it come on I'm a freakin adult yet I can't even manage to walk".

Ryan was angrier about the fact that his eyes still couldn't open. After another week of his constant and rigorous 'training' he woke up and looked around, finding a grown wolf looking at him.

'So you're my mom', he thought still half asleep closing his eyes again. He was about to lose himself in his sleep before it hit him. He immediately opened his eyes and saw the mother and the rest of his siblings in a cave.

He unconsciously began moving his tail from side to side. He was able to notice it because of his shadow that was being cast down.

'Don't tell me this is going to happen every time I'm happy?'

When he looked deeper into the cave he was able to see another mother and her pups. He compared them to his siblings, it seems like all of them have just been laying down this whole time.

"Crap looks like I got ahead of myself, hopefully, the mothers don't think I'm a freak".

He tried to walk again, now that he had his eyesight he could manage it a bit easier. He slowly walked towards the other cubs and began inspecting them.

When his mother saw him looking at them she picked him by the neck and placed him closer to her. She started rubbing her snout all around his head and back.

"Leave them alone little one, not everyone is as impatient as you. You sure take after your father. In the near future, I'm sure you'll make our pack proud".

He slowly moved away from her and began to practice waking. He figured that since he could walk slowly now that it meant that running wasn't far away.

The next day the rest of the pups began attempting to start walking. He had tried to communicate with them but got no results. At the end of the week, the pups were able to walk and slightly run. Ryan, on the other hand, could run all over the place.

During the week he has been playing tag with the pups. Without noticing Ryan had been influencing them to grow stronger to catch-up with him.

After a long day working out Ryan laid down next to his siblings. When his eyes began to close he was woken up by a voice he hadn't heard in a while.

Ping* : "Hey, just to give you a heads up you'll be able to communicate with the wolves tomorrow. Make sure not to do anything stupid."

Ryan smiled on the inside, 'about time you reach out old man'.

Ping* : "Watch it kiddo don't forget what happens if you anger me. Anyway, talk later tomorrow during your adventure."

Ryan with a confused expression asked, 'what do you mean adventure?'

Ping* : "you'll find out now get some sleep. I want you with a full tank tomorrow".

Ryan shrugged 'fine, but you better not have anything bad planned. You and your bad sense of humor are going to kill me one of these days.'

He snuggled with all the pups and began to fall asleep.
