The Dungeon City of Kingdom of Chip was a weird City. The laws for Slaves were weird, and frankly, the residents were kind of weird. That is coming from an ex-Mob boss and a Slave Trainer/ Beast Trainer. I had been here, and I found out that Trained slaves were worth a premium because you're only allowed to trade them twice every decade or so. So, if I trained them, with my certificate from the Empire, then sold them to a Slave Trader, they would pay me way more than if I just sold them a bunch of Bandits.
That was stupid, to say the least, but I did not know if it was cultural or if there was a way to free someone from Debt, slavery, or a bunch of other things. The Deal I made with the one and only local slave trader was to train the slaves before sending them over to him. In return, he would purchase me a place to train them.
Which he was not outright allowed to tell me as such. The gold coin just so happened to have ended up in my hands while I was waiting for a cute date with the Guild Receptionist. A man in a black hood came and dropped me a bag of gold and whispered that it was for setting up my facilities, which was going to be nice.
He also happened to let me know in a note that there was a large warehouse for sale from a recent criminal bust by the guards. Apparently, there was an ingredient known as Black grass mushrooms in the first couple of floors of the Dungeon. They are expressly forbidden from being picked because they have addictive and hallucinogenic effects. The problem is that they respawn every half-day, meaning there is a large supply of them at a moment's notice.
Then you have people perfectly willing to pick something for a couple of extra Copper or silver coins. All you need to do is store them and then send them to a remote place to manufacture, which is what they have been doing.
Now, I have already purchased the place after having a great night at the Inn with a lovely little rabbit from a Guild Receptionist. She was not the smartest person, but she knew all the local places and showed me a lot of things that saved me a lot of gold. She was insanely useful and was a delight to be around. Having some conventional sex once in a while was never a terrible thing, after all.
Then again, I was using her for some extra information. The pillow always made a great place to gather extra information when they wanted to wow you with things. What I did learn was that the Dungeon has never been fully explored.
The Dungeon in this City has no bottom or scales, and there is difficulty at every five levels. An F rank could pass the first five levels, but it would be a struggle. However, the Adventurer rank did not match the floor difficulty after that. It kept increasing the odds, from one goblin in a room to a goblin and a trap. IT was incredibly incremental. The deepest floor known to be explored was by a group of A rankers. They made it down to the 356th floor before retreating with severe wounds from their fight.
They never spoke about what they fought to the general public, which meant that this was a great place for me to train my little Cuties. I also heard from the Receptionist about the extra Quests for people with at least B-ranked level power, which needed to be confirmed. They paid extra, but they did not mean that hard. It was just that someone wanted a B-ranked or up to do it.
So, the quests in the main town were all about diving into the dungeon. There was another quest board outside the city on a small guild for each exit from the city.
Going west? Here is a list of things the city is looking for people to do.
Going east? Same thing, here is a list!
It was incredibly easy to understand, but I was surprised by the utter lack of B rankers I saw while I was there. Then again, I have not spent much time in the guild, and from how the girl said it, it was not that they were uncommon, but they spent a lot of time in the dungeon. Why come out when you could be living in the dungeon? This is when she told me that every interval of nine, with the expectation of fifth or tenth floors, was a rest area. So floor forty-five would skip the rest floor, and it would go another nine till the fifty-fourth floor before a rest floor.
Which then there are the Dungeon Dwellers that live inside the Dungeon. These people tend to work deep in the dungeon. They will live there for half a year before a team of guards will escort them out with guars. There was no way for you to leave with a simple transportation spell or anything. You walk down? You then have to walk your ass back up, probably through whatever you killed on the way down.
At least there was one piece of good news: things would not respawn while you're in the room. This also makes a conquered room a safe room at least temporarily. But that hope was dashed when I learned that monsters can move between rooms and like to roam around. Which made it weird to me that they would respawn in the same rooms they spawned in.
Then, I thought about the implications of that even more. I could create a monster train that brings down monsters' floors, which would effectively bring them into safe zones and various other things under threat. In fact, if I was so disposed of, I could create a train so long that I could run through a 'safe' floor and kill everyone there.
It was questionable if it was possible, as even the receptionist did not know. It took a lot to pry the information out of her while keeping the soft touches and moans going. It was another form of interrogation, and by the end of the night, I had gotten a lot out of the cute girl.
So, it was time to move on to exploring the dungeon. I already had a place to start training slaves, and I would leave that as something secondary. In a line of forward-thinking, I hired a young woman to take care of the slaves while I was away, ensuring that they were fed and given water. The fact that she was involuntarily deaf because of Bandits only helped my cause. It did not take me long to find her after asking for someone who could take care of it for me.
It seemed that this Trip to the Kingdom of Chip for their Dungeon was all going my way.
I could not wait until I dove into the dungeon to see what Monsters were in their depths.
