"You are my heart and my life. You are my little Mermaid, Ariel Jensen. Please don't leave me."
"Then listen to me closely. You need to sober up and we will talk tomorrow. Breakfast at Heathers 9am." Ariel looked at the driver. "Will you remind him?"
"Yes Miss"
"Then I'm going back up to my apartment and you are going home to sleep this off. We will decide tomorrow where this relationship will go."
Marcus could not help but see the sparkle in her eyes and nodded.
"love is more thicker than forget
more thinner than recall
more seldom than a wave is wet
more frequent than to fail
it is most mad and moonly
and less it shall unbe
than all the sea which only
is deeper than the sea
love is less always than to win
less never than alive
less bigger than the least begin
less littler than forgive
it is most sane and sunly
and more it cannot die
than all the sky which only
is higher than the sky
Love is more thicker than forget by E. E. Cummings."
"Don't try to sweet talk me. Go home." Ariel got out of the car and shut the door. She went upstairs and watched as his car drove away. He did have something about him that she could not put her finger on.
Marcus walked into his home and felt the loneliness he had there. Would she really give him the chance he wanted.
Mermaid [Did you make it home safe?]
His phone dinged and it was her.
[Yes] Marcus
Mermaid [Breakfast at Heathers 9am see you then so we can talk]
[Thank you for giving me a second chance.] Marcus
Mermaid [We will see after we talk. Drink a glass of warm water and go to be. Good night.]
[😁😴] Marcus.
He smiled as he put his phone down and walked into the bathroom for hot shower. The moment he held her in his arms he was sober. He could not wait till he could see her tomorrow.
Ariel got up a little early and stood in front of her closet. She was having a really hard time deciding what to wear. She pulled out outfit after outfit.
"No" "No" "No way" "Nope"
She finally decided on a pale green strapless sundress with little black sandals. She left her hair down around her shoulders with a little curl to make it bounce. She was off today so she was going to do some shopping for a dress to one of her coworkers weddings coming up this Sunday, she was going after her meeting with Marcus.
Marcus decided to take a more casual look with slacks, and a polo style shirt with loafers. He had found out of from her boss Kevin that she had the day off and he was hoping to spend the full day with her. Heny's assistant had canceled all of his appointments and was looking for a new assistant for him so he had only today to make things right.
He drove himself today in his Red convertible Porsche. He hoped she would take a drive with him later.
He parked the car and walked in. She was not here yet. He checked his watch for the time he was a little early.
"Son take a seat." Heather said.
He took the table in the corner so he could watch for her. Heather brought him a cup of black coffee. "Want the usual?"
"Yes but not until Ariel gets here. She is meeting me to talk." He said.
"Marcus, don't hurt this girl. She has had a ruff life."
"I know and I don't plan to hurting her. I just want to make her mine."
"Are you talking marriage because if you just want to sleep with her I'll kick your ass and have Nelson and Harry kick it too."
"I do mean Marriage, children, and growing old together."
"Good then you have my blessing."
Ariel walked in and smiled her beautiful brite smile that lit up the room. She walked over. "Did I keep you waiting long?"
"No just got here." Marcus smiled back.
Heather could see the goofy smile. "Do you want the usual dear?"
"Yes please." When heather walked off Marcus stood and pulled out a chair for Ariel. "Thank you. What do you want to say now that you are sober."
Marcus took his seat and took a sip of coffee. "Ariel first, thank you for talking to me. I did not know my assistant had caused this misunderstanding. It turns out that she had been running off anyone I dated because she was in love with me. She is no longer apart of my company or my life. I am sorry for the way I acted on the day you came to help me. I should of not have lost control of myself."
Heather had brought Ariel a glass of water, a glass of juice, and an empty glass. Marcus watched as she mixed half water, half juice in the empty glass and stopped talking for a second.
"The juice is to strong so I water it down. That way I get two glasses of juice and pay for one. Go on I am listening." She said sipping her juice.
"Right. I should of made sure to apologize after that."
"You did, you sent Periwinkles to my work."
"That was a thank you for the date. I also should of sent something to say I sorry. Since I could not get a hold of you."
"My phone was in my locker all day. I am a swim instructor so no place to keep a phone on me."
"I did not think of that at the time. I was just panicked that I may have lost a chance with you."
"I called you back but the girl who answered sounded like you had just finished having sex with her. I should of known she was lying because you still needed a lot of help with you body. I should of talked to you instead of the text and then blocking your calls."
"Then how did you get my text to come down?" Marcus asked.
"After your friend called I unblocked you."
Heather had arrived with their food. Marcus had an omelet with hashbrowns, bacon, and wheat toast. Ariel had pancakes with Strawberries and a side of sausage.
"I'm glad you did. If not then I really would of knocked on every door till I found you."
"No the first door belongs to a cop. He would of sent you to jail." She laughed.
