"Ariel, I know you are not the girl in my dreams but... you are the girl of... my dreams. Something has brought us together and I would like to see if we could have a future together. Spend the day with me today."
"I need to by a dress. A friend at work is getting married and I need something nice to wear. If you want, you could come with me and we could do something else after that."
"Sounds good." He smiled but she could see he was just pausing so she stayed quite.
"One more thing... I have a charity dinner to attend next Friday would you come with me if I get you a dress to wear?"
"How fancy?"
"Very, Please?" His puppy dogs eyes melted her.
"All right but then you have to be my date to Harriet's wedding."
He smiled very big, "Deal, when is it?"
"Next sunday at two." She smiled.
"Ok got it."
They finished eating and he paid the bill and they walked out to his car. When he opened the door her mouth dropped open. "This is yours?"
"One of mine. I though you might like to go for a drive later."
She slipped in and he shut the door and walked around to get in.
"That would be nice. I would enjoy that."
"Where too?" He asked starting the car.
"Down town to 'Little Darlings' it's a boutique on 9th." She smiled.
He drove and found a place to park just two doors down. He could could not wait to take her to get a dress for their date to Georgeville's annual committee fundraiser dinner and auction. He was glad she said yes and hoped she would not back out when he told her they would fly and spend the night there.
He watched as she looked at cute floral dresses. She finally choice one with a sweet heart neckline. Short sleeves and a puffy skirt. It looked good with her tan skin and light brown hair. It came with matching shoes and hair bow. She thought she was spending a lot. The dress combo cost her $184 dollars. Marcus tried to pay for it but she refused. She had saved money back since Harriette said she was engaged.
"You will let me buy the dress for the dinner we are going to?" He asked.
"Yes, I have saved six months for this dress. I don't have the money for anything fancier. So yes I will let you by me another dress. But don't spend a whole lot please."
"Ok, Lets go to 'Le Robe' I know which dress is perfect for you." He smiles and carries her items to the car and opens the door for her.
She smiles and gets in. When he gets in they talk of the weather. She was scared that she was taking advantage of him and this made her feel guilty. She opened her phone to look at her savings to see if she could afford to buy the dress herself but then he was so happy at the thought of getting one for her.
They pull up to a fancy mall and he helped her out. This was a place only the wealthy come to. As they walk he reaches out and takes her hand. Ariel looks down and smiles it does feel nice being like this with him.
A very vibrant man welcomes them as they enter the boutique.
"Welcome welcome Mademoiselle and le mari. How can I assist you today?"
"We need a dress. I ordered Marshall's new Mermaid dress."
"Ah that is the one we just got in. Marshall said a man with great taste would come for it. You must be Master Marcus."
"Yes, that is me. Marshall owed my a favor." He smiled.
"Come with me Mademoiselle and try on the dress."
Ariel followed him. and asked, "How much is this dress?"
"That is something you would need to ask your husband. It has already been paid for before it got to me."
She just did not have the energy to correct this man. As she entered the room her eyes went wide. There on a rack she seen the dress hanging. She slipped it on and a girl helped her get zipped up. It was a perfect fit. As if it was made for her.
It flowed over her body making her look and feel like a million bucks. When she walked out Marcus's mouth dropped. She was more beautiful with a sunset in fall. She smiled at him.
"So, how do I look?"
"You are missing something." He looked at the owner and he handed him a long black velvet box.
"This is just on lone." He opened it up and it was a black pearl necklace. The center piece glowed and as she could of sworn, it changed colors as she moved.
He took it out and placed it on her neck. Then opened a compartment in the box and pulled out black pearl earrings. He took out her little gold hoops and put in the pearls. He pulled her hair up and clipped it messy.
He then turned her to the full length mirror. She looked and touched the jewel. "This is toooo much. Is this really me?"
"It really is you and it is not very much. The jewels are just a lone remember." He smiled.
"Ok, I just don't want to be a burden to you. Please forgive me."
"There is nothing to forgive." He smiled.
The manger bagged everything up and they were sent to his home for safe keeping.
"Ready for our drive?" He asked opening the door.
"Sure, where to?" She asked.
"Just wait and see." He said closing the door and walking around the car.
The day was beautiful. Just right for a slow drive down the cost. The wind blowing through their hair made the world feel like nothing bad could ever happen.
"Thank you, I am really enjoying myself." She smiled as her hand did the wave up and down out side the car.
"Your welcome but wait till we get to our destination to thank me."
