I woke up in the hospital room to find my brother was no longer here anymore.
Must have went to meet those annoying fellas who were always trying to pet me or act like I was a lost puppy.
Well except for that one guy who resembles an ice cube in mannerisms.
Other than minor aches in my head and feeling like my body was beaten by the hulk, which I really don't mind since it reminds me that I am alive, I am ready to leave this boring place of fussing individuals.
With that thought, the door opens and a gentle old man walks in with eyes filled with love as he looks at his little grand daughter who is the spitting image of his only daughter.
"Grandpa!" I exclaim happily.
"Serenity, your brother told me about last night, and since I couldn't be here to comfort you, I brought your favorite cheesecake!" he says ending with a chuckle.
"The one with that strawberry sauce and the cookie crumbles?" I say excitedly while licking my lips. I love my family.
"Yes that's the one!" he says smiling and hands it over to me.
"ahh grandpa your the best, you really dote on me the most!" I say before snatching the plate and taking a big bite. Omg it's like a freaking ecstasy filled heaven in my mouth.
I am too emotional since being reborn, this makes me want to cry in happiness.
"Okay, you foodie, slow down, we can always get you some more later." he says with a doting smile as he uses a napkin to clean the corners of my mouth.
My cheeks turn red from my childish habit, but food is food. So good.
I take a minute after finishing before starting to talk again.
"Grandpa, I am really feeling a lot better, can we please leave earlier, I don't like this place." I say giving my best pouting face for extra luck.
He sighs, "I will talk to your doctor and get you discharged tonight and have the maids prepare to welcome you, but you will still have to stay here for a few more hours."
"Well I guess that's okay since I can go home tonight." I say with a smile.
"Why don't we have the nurse bring you for a walk to get you some fresh air while I talk to your doctor and make some quick phone calls." he says gently and I nod in agreement.
Shortly after my grandpa left, a nurse came in with a wheel chair to take me for a stroll in the garden.
I got out of the bed carefully but still felt like a baby deer trying to walk for the first time as my body has been comatose for a month and aches all over.
With the nurses help, I managed to waddle and sit in the chair.
She wheeled me out slowly which I appreciated since it gave me some time to take in everything once again.
Seeing the bright shining sun is just another prime example that a storm can not last forever.
I was lost in thought smiling at the sun when I heard a nauseating voice that I wish I could forget, greeting me.
"Serenity! I was just coming to visit you!" she says.
Just her voice alone makes my skin crawl and my stomach churn.
I put on my best confused face as I say with all seriousness, "Who are you?"
"I am your friend Arabella, don't you remember me?" she says with a fake pained look.
Man, this little white lotus, why did I not notice before.
"Sorry, since I have awakened, I have trouble remembering anyone with little significance." I say with sincerity.
Hearing my words must have left her dumbstruck since she has her mouth wide open and I can see her nails digging into her palms.
Whoops must have hit at her insecurity by calling her insignificant to me.
"How, how could you forget me?" she says tearfully as she approaches me and grabs arm, digging her nails into my skin.
Fuck, if only my body wasn't so weak right now, I would shake this vixen off. I know she is putting up an act for someone, but this didn't happen in my last life.
"I don't know you, release me, you are hurting me!" I say loudly, hoping to get the attention of the nurse who decided to run off, confirming my suspicions that this was planned.
"We are best friends, I know you will remember again, please!" she says with a pitiful look on her face.
When I was about to respond in annoyance with this girl who is now drawing blood from my arm with her nails she pulled my arm hard making it look like I pushed her and fell over.
I would have laughed if it was just her falling, but the stupid vixen underestimated how strong she is compared to my weakened state from being in a month long coma and pulled me right out of my chair.
As I close my eyes tightly preparing for the impact with the ground, I hear my name being shouted and realize I am not on the ground but in someone's strong embrace.
I peak one eye open and then suddenly both of my eyes are wide open baffled at the sight of the number one male death god in front of me.
Dahm, I forgot that these gods weren't just known as gods for their horrifying abilities but because their looks resembled gods themselves.
Holding me in his embrace is none other than Colton Anderson, the guy I called an ice block earlier.
He may act like ice, but standing 6'4 with his short wavy chestnut brown hair and those gorgeous green eyes, well he could entice any women, that's for sure. Actually he could probably turn any man too.
At this moment, I didn't realize how safe I felt in his arms or how despite his icey personality, he is like the sun to me, melting my core.
Hearing him chuckle, my cheeks redden in embarrassment as my brother runs over panicked.
"Ren! are you okay? What are you doing out of the room?" he says as he is about to take me from Colton, but I wince in pain making him stop and look down at my arm that has become bloody with scratches from that stupid white lotus.
Both his and Colton's eyes almost seem to go red in anger as they glare at the other girl who is still bent on continuing her "woe is me" lying pitifully on the ground.
Colton lifts me up in his arms bridle style causing me to blush again as I unconsciously wrap my arm around his neck so he doesn't drop me.
No one noticed the corners of his mouth lift slightly as the petite girl wrapped her arms around him, but it went away just as quick as it happened.
Seeing both of their bodyguards approach, hayden shouted, "Throw this girl out for planning to harm the Hunter family heiress."
Colton just chipped in naturally with an icy tone, "You don't have to be gentle with her."
With that said and done, they walked me back to my hospital bed and the whole time Hayden was arguing trying to get Colton to let him take me. Geez, these men, but I felt comfortable.
I am confused why they didn't even glance more than twice or confront Arabella at all though or even hear what she had to say, but I am not dwelling on it.
That situation was just too exhausting for my body to handle right now, not too mention my lack of sleep from the night before.
I guess I must have felt too comfortable as I relaxed in Colton's embrace and fell asleep with my head against his chest as they seemed to quiet down and walk slower to my room on the VIP floor at the top level of the hospital.
