After sitting down at my desk, I take out my notebook and pencil from my back pack and turn to a blank page to sign the date on the top right corner.
Once done, I set my pencil down and look outside to see the sun isn't out yet making it cloudy and gloomy.
While I frown at the sky, hoping it won't be a rainy day, my thoughts are interrupted by an excited voice, "OMG. Serenity, right? That was so bad ass the way you pushed past Sarah and her goons like that!"
"I was getting tired standing there, but thank you...I think." I say calmly as I turn my head to look at the person who is speaking to me, only to be dumbfounded as to how such an excited voice can belong to that.
The girl in front of me is about 5'8, why the fuck is everyone so tall, but this girl looked like a super model with long hair colored like honey and golden amber eyes. She is a serious beauty.
She sits at the empty desk next to me and keeps talking, "No problem, I am Melody Powers by the way. You are that girl who is like a genius and skipped like 3 grades to senior year right?" she says amazed.
"It was just two grades, but yeah that is me. I am Serenity Hunter, but you already knew that. Nice to meet you!" I respond with a kind smile, her name sounds familiar to me, but I can't think of why.
She just looks at me dumbfounded for a moment making me wonder if there is something in my teeth and I frown which shakes her out of her stupor.
"Sorry, your smile is so amazing though, your like a sun goddess. I will make you my honorary sister, we will be best friends. I can feel it." she says happily.
I blush at her compliment. Geez, but despite her being a bit crazy, I feel like we will be good friends. She seems genuine, though I still don't know if I can open up to her... trusting someone as much as I had done with Arabella, I don't know if I ever will be able to do that ever again.
"What sun goddess, you look like a freaking goddess of love and height, your like a model. I guess we can be friends." I say back.
"Well I am a model, I actually don't come to school often because of it so you're like my first friend! Most people just want something from me when they approach me, but you seem honest, especially with the way you handled Sarah and ignored how she implied you were a..." she trails off at the end when I glare at her, making me laugh. I like this girl.
"I understand what you mean." I say, not explaining how.
Now that I think about it, I came back to school earlier than I did in my past life because I recovered two months earlier, this is why I never met Melody before.
While they are chatting the teacher comes in and begins the lesson, so everyone quiets down and pays attention.
It was at this time that no one had noticed that Sarah wasn't in class, but had walked down the hall to make a phone call.
"Daddy!" she whines when the call is picked up and then proceeds to explain what happened. "It was so embarrassing and then she pushed me." she says making sure to exaggerate the truth and leave out how she started it.
"How dare that girl embarrass my daughter like that. Don't worry, daddy will have her taken care of!" he says while thinking that her name does sound familiar as he recalls that a certain devil in the industry seemed to have a rumored sister with the same name, but he shakes it off when he remembers that the Hunter heiress was last reported to be in a coma at the downtown hospital.
'They will thank me for getting rid of this imposter who is tarnishing there name, I may even get a reward.' he thinks happily as he ends the call and dials the number to a local gang leader.
Little did he know, the Hunter heiress has already woken from her coma, they just decided it would better to not announce it publicly yet as she hasn't fully recovered all her strength.
