Starpaw walked to the enterance of ThunderClan, but she was stopped by Darkstripe. "And where do you think you're going?" Starpaw stopped, but honestly didn't really want to. "Goldendust told me to go and-" Darkstripe's eyes widen and he ordered, "You don't take orders from that rogue, go help with the repairs. No cat is to leave the camp tonight!" Starpaw replied with, "Yes, Darkstripe." Starpaw also mumbled, "More like Dirtstripe." Starpaw walked over to the fresh-kill pile where Graypaw and Bluepaw were.
"Hey, Starpaw! How's Yellowfang?"
"She's fine, Bluepaw. She said wild garlic would be good for my rat bites and I was on my way to go find some, but Darkstripe ordered me to stay at camp."
"Wild garlic? I wouldn't mind to giving it a try. My leg is killing me."
"I can go and get some. It's not like anyone would notice, I can slip out of this hole here. It's only take a couple rabbit hops."
"I don't think that's a good idea," Graypaw commented.
"We'll cover for you."
"Thanks Bluepaw. And don't worry Graypaw it won't take long."
Starpaw then slipped through the small hole in serch of wild garlic. She sniffed around and soon found a patch of wild garlic. "Oh yeah, the garlic patches I've found in the past is definitely just like this one." Starpaw started to roll a bit in the wild garlic and found it very effective. As she went to collect some for Bluepaw and Graypaw, she found a weird scent. "Huh, ShadowClan? Wait, no. That's just RavenClaw and -sniff sniff- some two cats, Darkstripe and Longtail? I wonder why they are out here." Starpaw went closer to the three warriors and made sure to be very quiet.
"StarClan knows my apperentice had a bit of promise, but I never expected him to turn to a traitor!"
Starpaw was confused. Graypaw wasn't a traitor. Why on StarClan would Ravenclaw ever say that!
"How long did you say Graypaw went missing on the journey to Mothermouth?"
Starpaw was a bit confused, but realized that Darkstripe was talking about the apprentice assessment.
"Long enough to travel to ShadowClan and back."
That was impossible, although we went to seperate directions. It was still close enough to say that he was will us the whole time. Plus, that was not enough time to make that assumed trip.
"He must of told them ThunderClan's leader and their deputy had left the camp! How else would they attack when they did?!"
"We are the last clan to stand against ShadowClan, we must remain strong."
"The clan is better off with traitors like Graypaw."
"I would have to agree with you Darkstripe, even if it's my own apperentice."
Starpaw was mad. "How can they not notice that it's all an act just to get Graypaw in trouble. Of course not, they both would just throw themselves in the river. They would believe whatever dirt he feeds them. Just when I was starting to trust him, but luckly I always had my doubts. However, I couldn't tell Graypaw he would be terrifed for his life! No one would believe me over the deputy, but Graypaw is in great danger. He could be kicked out, or even worse killed! There is only one way I can save Graypaw, I have to tell tell the truth, I have to convice Firestar, somehow.
"I couldn't get the wild garlic. Sorry Bluepaw, I'll get some poppy seeds from Spottedleaf," Starpaw said. Bluepaw replied, "Don't worry about it, I'm fine." "It really is no trouble, I'll be back." Starpaw meowed. Starpaw went over to Spottedleaf's den to get the poppy seeds. Starpaw saw Spottedleaf walking back and forth. "Are you okay," Starpaw asked. "The spirits of StarClan are restless, they are trying to tell me something. Anyways, what can I do for you?" meowed Spottedleaf. "I can do poppy seeds for Bluepaw's leg." replied Starpaw. "The pain of losing Redtail will make her injuries feel worse, but she'll mend in time. Of course, poppy seeds will help with her pain. Here, give her one or two," Spottedleaf said. "Thanks," Starpaw meowed. Starpaw turned around and started to walk out of the den, but Spottedleaf stopped her.
Spottedleaf meowed, "Wait, StarClan spoke to me moons ago before you joined the clan. I assume they want me to tell you this now. They said, 'Only stars can guild this clan.' Cya tomorrow." Spottedleaf went deeper in the den after leading Starpaw out. Starpaw didn't even have a chance to say bye. Spottedleaf's words clouded Starpaw's mind as she slowly made her way back to the apperentices' den. "Only stars can guide the clan. Aren't stars the spirits of the cats that pasted away. I know that sometimes they help clans by giving information, but it isn't often. Spottedleaf didn't really seem like she was talking about the stars from Silverpelt, though. I just don't get it, how can stars guild the clan?"
Starpaw made her way to the apprentices' den. "Why are you up this late?" Starpaw looked around to see Dustpelt up a bit. "She's getting poppy seeds for me, Dustpelt." replied Bluepaw. Starpaw dropped the poppy seeds in front of Bluepaw. "Can you all just be quiet?" hissed Sandpaw. "We don't need YOUR attitude in here," replied Bluepaw. "Just go back to sleep," meowed Starpaw. Sandstorm repostioned herself in her nest as she went back to sleep. Bluepaw quickly ate the poppy seeds, then went back to sleep. Dustpelt slowly fell to sleep. Meanwhile, Spottedleaf's words still clouded Starpaw's head, as she soon fell asleep.
