The night ended just like that. With such limited time with her family, Qian Lan didn't want to spend it bickering with her mother. She realized her parents now had gray strands of hair; even Xia Lan looked more mature. With the passage of time moving for them, but not her.
"Sigh.....I need to stop over thinking and sleep."
Just like that, Qian Lan forced her eyes closed and soon drifted off into a deep sleep. Hours soon rolled by, and with the sun peeking in through her small window, Qian Lan knew it was time for a new day.
"Knock Knock."
"Qian Lan, are you awake?"
A low soft tone voice calls out to her as she laid still in her bed. Realizing who it was, she quickly sits up and straightens her messy hair.
"Jiang? You can come in."
Jiang walks in all dressed up in modern looking clothes. A dark blue fitted dress shirt with black pants. With his hair tied into a pony tail, Jiang looked even more dashing than normal to Qian Lan.
"Wow, Jiang! You were busy this morning."
"I borrowed these from father in law. He say's they were his old clothes and has no need for them anymore. Hurry and get up, mother says its time for lunch soon."
"Wow, seems to me they're more like your parent's than mine."
Qian Lan chuckles and walks out of her bed. She motions for Jiang to leave so she can shower and change herself. With everyone waiting on her, Qian Lan could only quickly wash herself and blow dry her hair. Throwing on a new set of clothes, she dressed herself in a white mid length dress with sunflower prints. Quickly throwing her hair into a mess bun, Qian Lan rushes downstairs and sees her mother and sister just setting up the table.
"Good morning mother and big sister."
"Qian Lan, it's afternoon now. Hurry and help your sister set out plates."
"Yesssss....mother, I know."
Qian Lan grabs hold of the rice bowls and sets them out on the dinning table, there she spots Jiang talking to Lei Yi and her father on the sofa couches. Paying them no mind, Qian Lan heads back into the kitchen.
"Did Lei Yi sleep over too big sis?"
"Oh, yes. He stayed in the guest room with your fiancé."
"Fiancé?"
"You're practically engaged to him if you're getting married in a few days right?"
"I suppose so....you're not wrong."
Everyone quickly ate and cleaned up afterwards. Wanting to show Jiang the evolution of modern time she asks her family to spend a day out.
"Your father and I can't make it as we have prior appointments to keep, but your sister and Lei Yi can keep you two company."
With their parting words, Qian Lan's parents quickly left the house.
"Wow, you'd think they want to spend more time with me seeing as I only have two days left here.
"I'm sorry Qian Lan, it's been hard on them ever since your disappearance."
"Stop sis, you don't need to make excuses for them. Let's go, Lei Yi brought his car right?"
Qian Lan took Jiang to her favorite restaurants and stocked up on modern clothes for the both of them. Soon the sun was only a few hours away from setting. Having her fill of fun, Qian Lan motions for everyone to head on home.
The drive back home was quiet, but was quickly broken by Lei Yi.
"Ahem, Qian Lan? I hope you don't mind that I told Ah-Mi you were safe and back home."
"Ah-Mi? Is she coming to see me tomorrow?"
"Yes, if that's alright with you."
"Of course! I'd love to see her. I no longer have my phone and its a waste to get one for just three days."
"I understand, I'll let her know you want to see her."
"Thank you!"
Qian Lan smiles and tightens her hold on Jiang's hand. In the past she would've never been able to talk to Lei Yi without reserves. With Jiang by her side, Qian Lan was more at ease than ever.
Another day flew by just like that. Lei Yi drops of Qian Lan and her sister along with Jiang and heads home to speak to Ah-Mi. After a long day of shopping the trio was tired and ready to call it a day.
Just as Qian Lan exits her bedroom after showering she hears her parent's talking downstairs to an familiar voice. Curious enough she heads down the stairs and is greeted by Ah-Mi.
"Ah-Mi?"
"Qian Lan?"
Ah-Mi runs into Qian Lan's arms and bursts out into a loud hysterical cry. Unable to hold her tears back, Qian Lan also lets out a cry. To give the girls space, Qian Lan's parents head back upstairs into their room as the girls catch up.
Meanwhile Jiang who was resting in the guest room hears of Qian Lan's cries and teleports right to the front door entrance; shocking everyone.
"Qian Lan what's wrong?!"
With a worried look on his face, Jiang quickly notices all eyes on him. Quickly gaining her composure, Qian Lan wipes her tears and scolds Jiang.
"Jiang, I told you not to do that. What if you scare someone."
"Ah...I know. Sorry, I wasn't thinking."
Qian Lan smiles and grabs hold of Jiang's right hand.
"Ah-Mi, this is my fiancé Jiang."
Ah-Mi wipes her tears and smiles and bows to greet Jiang.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm Qian Lan's best friend Ah-Mi. I've heard a little from my brother Lei Yi about your situation. This is my husband Gao Jun."
A plain looking man, with a thin frame and glasses stood behind Ah-Mi. With not much presence, Qian Lan had barely noticed him this whole time.
"We have a lot to catch up on don't we? Come, take a seat over here."
Qian Lan leads her friend and her husband into the living room with Jiang following closely behind.
