Chapter 4 - I Start My New Life in the Academy!

031@ Turning training into a contest is always a good idea. Psychologically, we, as humans, will always become at least interested in the idea of a competition. A clever trap that can generate results for the higher ups. You tend to know a lot when your guardian had been teaching you advanced subjects before you were even in school. @404

The chaos continued for a good five minutes until it eventually came to a halt by the principle's waving hand.

"Alright! Now that the entertainment is out of the way, time to het started on how this academy works."

The principle, Mr. William, fired a different gun in the middle of the crowd and a bunch grey sparks swirled around and materialized into a bunch of chairs. The chairs materialized right underneath every student, then carried and sat them in rows. It was quite an amazing spectacle to witness.

Once everyone was sitting in a chair, the principle put his magic guns away and pulled out a few sheets of paper.

"I wish I could say that these papers were just for show, but I really do need them so that I can remember these rules. But in my defense, I only forgot them because they were boring as all hell."

That sarcasm got a few chuckles out of some of the front and back row students.

"Let's first begin on how your classes will go. Their are five different classes of magic. Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, and Light magic. Each of them have their own kinds of strength and weakness, all except for Light magic. You'll all be spending your first semester trying each class as a way to see which kinds of magic you are most and least sufficient in. Let's say that you exceed in Earth magic, but suck with Fire magic. That basically means that you'll spend less time with Earth magic and more time with Fire magic. Light magic is an exception because having the ability to possess Light magic is incredibly rare. Are you all understanding this?"

We all nodded.

"Good," he continued. "Anyways, It's ok for you guys to fail your magic classes since you're all freshmen. However, once your first semester is over you will be expelled if you fail even one of your classes. Keep that in mind."

Everyone started to glance at one another with worried looks. I kept myself cool because something like this was expected. It would make sense that the government would only accept knights who were the best of the best.

"Your classes will be assigned to you at random, but you will all get five two-hour long classes, one for each magic class. In order to get in that classroom, however, is with your ID. There will always be a government official standing in the front of the school waiting to scan your ID's, but once you're inside you'll have to do that all manually. This applies to your lockers, your dorm room, your lunches, and your training equipment."

Looks like the security here really is no joke.

"The last thing that I want to go over with you will be the one thing that is most important for you to have if you want to graduate: A winning record. I'm sure that you all know about the whole 'Winning Streak' trend, but there's more to it than popularity. In your ID's, you'll see two numbers that should say '0 - 0.' That represents your win to loss ratio, or your Magic Battle Record. In order for you to graduate your fourth and final year in this academy, you need to have a 3:2 win ratio, which means that you'll have to win 66 percent of your Magic Battles. If your percentage is less than that, then you won't be able to graduate and you'll also be expelled. We also host tournaments here if you feel like joining with a squad. That's... pretty much all of it, so I would like you all to open your ID's and find where it says keys. You'll see an option called 'Dorm Room Key,' which tells you which room you'll be staying in. Of course, you'll all be having a roommate since we want to increase social interactions between you guys. To be honest, I don't really care since nobody ever listens to a teacher's advice anyways. Just have fun and do you best, alright? Alright! Dismissed!"

Everyone got up and started opening up their ID's to look at their dorm room. I couldn't see what their ID's said on them because a specific person's ID is linked to their brain and only allows that specific person to see what's on their ID without a fear of invasion of privacy.

I opened up my ID and clicked on my Dorm Room Key.

"Building 2 - Floor 3 - Room 5." I read to myself.

Before I started walking to where that was, I huge voltage of light green lightning shot out from my ID and stopped somewhere in the crowd.

"Is this... Linked Minds?"

Linked Minds is basically where you allow your ID to be seen by another individual. This was used by couples, friends, and, of course, roommates.

I followed the light green voltage of lightning until I came face to face with the last person that I wanted to see.

"YOU!!!"she shouted, pointing at me

"PINK-HAIRED BITCH!!!" I shouted, pointing at her.

"EEEHHHHHH?!?!"
