"This is not acceptable. Complete this by tomorrow or you are all fired. Meeting dismissed."
A group of men and women in suits scurried out of the room. After they all left, an old man walked in.
"Young Miss, that wasn't the nicest way you could have done it, was it?" The man sat himself down in a chair and started preparing tea. "Do you want a cup?"
The chair opposite him swirled around. On it, a lady with luscious wavy brown hair and beautiful deep blue eyes. She had looks of a pop idol or movie star considering her perfectly sculpted face, rosy coloured plump lips and long lashes.
"No thank you uncle Aaron, you know I prefer my coffee. Now I'm sure you didn't come over to scold me did you? Or was it my mother who perhaps sent you over?"
"Ah Belle dear, do I not see you everyday, stop it with your sarcasm. I was just saying, your staff could be treated with a bit more gentleness. Perhaps that would rid you of your cold and ruthless reputation," the old man started to say.
"Ok boomer," she muttered.
"Huh. What's that Belle? Did you start learning another language?" The old man dipped tea while pondering the meaning of that strange phrase. It seemed to sound so philosophical and unique.
"Nothing, just something I read in part of the "ancestor series", you know the official textbook about our human ancestors millions of year ago." Belle began to place her papers away.
"As I was saying, your reputation is similar to the one your mother built up, however I ask you not to push too much with it. After all I know you wouldn't wish to have her personality too." The old man stirred his tea. " Speaking of your mother, she asked you to come to the charity party of her best friend. It's tonight 7 pm, she wants you there dressed up and on time."
"Well then, I'll see you around." Grabbing her coat, Belle opened the door.
Aaron looked shocked. He didn't expect her reaction to be that bad. "Hey! No need to be mad Miss Belinda, just give me an answer whether you are coming!" He got up quickly, ignoring his cooling tea. "Youth these days," he muttered.
Turning around, Belle have him a strange look. "Well I have to get ready for the party don't I? Won't you let me leave now?"
"Ah yes yes, I'll tell your mother that."
The two parted ways and Belle got into her polished black car. 'Old people are such a pain."
