They dumped the bodies into a mass grave and allowed the sand to swallow everything up.
Looking at how they operated reminded me of a very bad memory, so I swore that Rulia definitely has to take revenge on this rowdy bunch, because that was one thing I was unable to do for myself.
I looked back into my dreamscape and shook Rulia.
"Hey, Rulia, are you up?"
"Y-yes."
"Cried enough?"
"Never."
"Well, save your tears then for later. We've got work to do."
"Why should I listen to you?"
Ooooh, to think you've got enough energy to talk back now? What an ungrateful kid.
I just stared at her for a while before she crumbled under the pressure like a child in front of a parent with a rattan stick.
"At least, introduce yourself," she mumbled sadly.
I started. I've been so focused on scaring her with my premonitions and predictions that I had forgotten to tell her who I was.
"Will you promise me to get to work once I've introduced myself?"
"Yes. Thank you for saving me. My name is Rulia De Cleridalle, the only daughter of Cleridalle House from Kaedolia. Pleased to meet you."
I bowed to her curtsey.
"Nice to meet you too. My name is Ernaline."
"...No surname?"
"I've forgotten it. Now that that's been over and done with, we need to get down to business."
I pulled her down onto the floor and sat in front of her.
"Rulia Cleridalle. You know that my spirit is inside your necklace right?"
"The bandits have buried everyone in the sand, and I am afraid that box you were holding in your hand fell out of your grip when they threw your body in with the rest. Can I bother you to dig me up after you dig yourself out?"
The face that she made was so funny that I almost laughed in that inappropriate moment.
