I leaned back against the wall, exhausted about the recent battle. It seemed, the more mana you used, the more tired you got.
'Yet another reason to increase my intelligence.'
The soldiers stood around me, guarding me against any outside threats that might appear. I couldn't help but smile. I had my own bodyguards to protect me.
'I need to keep hunting goblins to complete the daily quest. If I complete the daily quest, I should be able to level up, which will result in more loyal soldiers to serve me.'
I sat back against the wall for a little bit to catch my breath, then set out to collect all my gains. I collected the swords that the dead goblins had dropped and inspected them. They weren't of good quality, but they might be useful in the future.
I took a few swings with the swords, but they felt a little too awkward for me. When I held onto the knife, I felt like it was an extension of my hands.
As soon as I finished rearranging the weapons in my backpack, I set off to look for some more goblins to hunt. Now that I had three soldiers to fight and protect me, I felt pretty good.
'System, how much intelligence do I need to increase my soldier count?'
[For every intelligence point you have, you gain one soldier slot.]
The reason I only had three soldiers with six points in intelligence was because of the trait, Night Proficiency. With that trait, I have double the attributes in the dark environment.
I began running down the hall, intending on finding the next group of goblins. As long as I hunted seven more goblins, I would complete my daily quest.
---
Feng and his two soldiers ran at the incoming party of goblins. There were a total of five goblins in the group and one hobgoblin. The hobgoblin was definitely the most dangerous in the group.
When the goblins saw the incoming enemy, they raised their crude swords. The only weapon that could actually be worth anything would be the silver knife in the hobgoblin's hand. Although the silver knife didn't look like much, I could feel a sinister aura exuding from the silver knife. Whenever I looked at the silver knife, I felt a desire to have it in my hands. I wanted it.
The plan was for Feng and his soldiers to distract the goblins while I attack the hobgoblin. I would attack the hobgoblin in Stealth. As long as it didn't notice me, I would be able to kill it. Sadly, things weren't that lucky. When I was in range to attack the hobgoblin, the hobgoblin turned around and blocked my incoming strike.
'Damn it. It must have heard my footsteps. I need to be quieter next time. I also need to suppress my killing intent.'
The hobgoblin turned around to attack me, but I had long since run away and hidden. Two of the enemy goblins had already perished to my soldiers, but I was almost out of mana.
'Damn it. I need more mana.'
I gritted my teeth and had Feng and his soldiers retreat. If this fight kept going on, I would eventually run out of mana. Once that happened, death was inevitable.
Since Feng was my strongest soldier, I had it come and support me in attacking the hobgoblin while the other two soldiers kited the enemy goblins. As long as we killed the hobgoblin, we could kill the other goblins.
With Feng at my side, blocking the incoming strikes of the hobgoblin, I was able to sneak around to the back of the hobgoblin. The difference between the Feng and the hobgoblin was ginormous. Each attack from the hobgoblin would send Feng flying. I attacked as silent as I could. I had also hidden away my killing intent. It took a bit of effort, but it was doable.
As the knife pierced the hobgoblin, I had the other soldiers stop kiting the goblins and attack the hobgoblin with us. With 4v1, it was inevitable the hobgoblin die. After only three seconds of the bombardment, the hobgoblin fell to the ground.

[Player Kura has leveled up to Level 1!]
As soon as I got the message, I had my soldiers surround me and protect me. I immediately had all my distribution stat points put into intelligence. As I was about to close the stat window to continue the fight, I noticed that my mana had refilled to the max.
'When you level up your mana is filled to the max, I guess.'
With the boost to my mana, I didn't even have to worry about being killed by the goblins.
'Rise'
As soon as the thought entered my mind, black smoke surrounded the dead hobgoblin. What arose from the smoke was a pitch-black hobgoblin holding onto a bone knife.
The goblins seemed terrified when they saw the hobgoblin soldier. The goblins began to back up, but we didn't give them a chance. We bombarded them with attacks until they fell.
