The clock stroke midnight, just about time Dimetreia Pierce came through her door. A woman like her should not go home at this time of the night, but she chose to because she wanted to experience how it feels to go home late without anyone scolding her. She wakes up late and goes home late. A woman who has incredibly good looks and an alluring sexy body, mapped with sophistication should always go home early, but she was different. Too different that anyone can be afraid of. But no. This time she chose to be like them. She's choosing to live like the others.
"Dimetreia." A familiar voice called, so she looked around to search for its owner. The living room; no one. The dining room; no one. The kitchen; no one. She returned at the foot of the stairs thinking who it might be. Thinking that maybe she's just hallucinating, she took the first five steps of the stairs when she heard the same voice again, "Dimetreia..." she froze at her fifth step when she finally realized who the owner of the voice is. She knew right then and there that something is wrong. And that her new ways of life would once again change. A life she has long forgotten for almost five years.
"No. Not you again." She said as she closed her eyes, refraining herself from looking at the mirror at the bottom of the stairs.
"Dimetreia, you cannot escape who you truly are." The woman said in a calm yet authoritative voice.
"Yes, I can. I already did for five years now. And no one can stop me. Not even you."
She took another three steps up the stairs when the woman once again spoke
"Your brother is in danger Dimetreia. Do you want to see him get hurt?"
"He's not my brother. Because if he is, he shouldn't have done that!"
"He was just protecting you..." the woman said, "I would've done the same Dimetreia."Â
Then anger covered Dimetreia's heart and mind. She clenched her fist as she took the candleholder at the altar beside her and threw it to the mirror, shattering it to pieces. She continued climbing up the stairs towards her room when she suddenly felt pain. A pain she cannot endure. A pain that not even the strongest magic can cure, and it's coming from her head. Another minute passed and the pain got worse. But before her consciousness left her, the last thing she heard was
"I told you, you cannot escape who you truly are."
