Chapter 38 - Destiny

"Sob… sob…" A quiet voice suddenly sounded, and Su Xiqin looked over.

"Is it really uncomfortable? Hold on; the doctor will see you soon."

Bai Yansen looked away from Su Xiqin's face and towards Mo Jintian in his arms. Mo Jintian's chubby arms were grabbing onto Bai Yansen's shirt tightly, and there was a mist of tears covering his dark round eyes as he pouted.

"Susu, I don't want the needle shot." Mo Jintian looked upset with his head lowered, looking dispirited.

"The doctor hasn't looked at you yet, so you might not have to get a needle shot." Su Xiqin suddenly kneeled down beside Bai Yansen's knees and stared at Mo Jintian in worry.

"But everytime we come here, they give me a needle shot. Susu, I don't want a needle shot."

"Okay, Mommy will tell the doctor not to give you the needle shot."

"Really?" Mo Jintian said in his childish voice, and it sounded a little jiberish.

Su Xiqin nodded at him, calming him down.

Mo Jintian heard his mommy's promise, but he was still a bit worried. He raised his head at Bai Yansen and wanted to ask him.

However, he saw that Bai Yansen was looking at his mommy instead. His brows furrowed a bit, and he blinked his dark eyes as he wondered.

The next second, he decided on something. He raised his mushroom-like head towards Bai Yansen's ear and whispered.

Su Xiqin didn't understand her son's strange behavior but noticed that he really treated Bai Yansen differently.

Just when she was confused about it, she saw a rare smile appear on Bai Yansen's face, and he even reached out to pinch Mo Jintian's little face.

"Smarty-pants."

Mo Jintian smiled with his white teeth showing and his eyes and brows pinching into curves.

Su Xiqin frowned having seen their intimate interaction and wondered what kind of secret they were keeping that she couldn't even know.

Maybe because Bai Yansen noticed her stare, he looked back at her, and his lips curled even more having seen her expression.

"You want to know what we were talking about?" Bai Yansen said with a smile on his face.

Su Xiqin blushed because Bai Yansen read her mind so easily, but she still tried to defend herself.

"No I don't."

Her tone was still childish and playful, and that made Bai Yansen smile even more as he reached out his hand to pull her up back onto the chair beside him.

"It's written all over your face, yet you still want to pretend otherwise."

He stared at her gently.

Su Xiqin lowered her head when she noticed how close in contact they were when he pulled her up, and she suddenly went quiet.

Mo Jintian thought that his mommy was actually jealous because of how serious she looked, so he stuck out his chubby hand and pushed Su Xiqin a little.

"Susu, I was just asking why Uncle is here. He was here last time you were sick and also this time when I'm sick. I think it's destiny."

Su Xiqin's expression froze when she heard what her son had said, and she blanked out thinking about what he actually meant. She raised her head after thinking for a while and looked in Bai Yansen's direction.

"Maybe it is indeed destiny," Bai Yansen replied to Mo Jintian's words as he stared at Su Xiqin.

Su Xiqin felt as if he was purposely telling her that, but she couldn't ask any further when her son was still here, so she got up and sat on the seat beside him.

"Uncle, could I call you Baibai?"

Mo Jintian stared at Bai Yansen with his pure and innocent eyes as he sat on his pat, and his eyes were so clear that it didn't look like he was sick anymore.

"Why call me Baibai?"

"Because I call my mommy Susu, and her last name is Su. Bai is your last name. Baibai or maybe Baymax because he's also popular recently, and your name sounds like a Baymax as well."

Mo Jintian explained in his childish voice.

"Then what do you want to call me?"
