A smile appears on Walter's face as he watches Angie Dee and Alfred walk up the hill and get to their humble cottage safely. Finding his sense of time by looking up at the sky, something glistened at the corner of his eye in the bush. Turning quickly, directing his gaze to the shine not losing it he bent down to pick it up he realized it was the pocket watch that he had made for her years ago. His heart tightened as he held it closer to his chest, fidgeting it in his hands. Hearing a flutter in the wind, he turned back to the bush and saw a little Livilla tilting its head examining him."Why hello there young Livilla" Walter greets, "I apologize for cutting our introductions short but, I need to return this to someone" showing the bird the pocket watch. Walter then runs up the hill to catch up with Alfred. Walter felt like he just walked into a dramatic theater play, and this act was the reunited scene. Alfred turned to Angie Dee after a quick glance to check who'd just entered the home.
"Ah my sweet Angie Dee, how I longed to be accompanied by you once more," Alfred declared with such glee in his voice as he embraced her. "How was your trip, Master?" Angie spoke with excitement in her eyes. Walter felt like he just walked into a dramatic theater play, and this act was the reunited scene.
"Angie, please let Alfred be, the old man must be tired," nagged Walter a bit annoyed.
"It's okay, she doesn't bother me, I sure do miss my little angel" Alfred smiled after his reply. Alfred holding Angie's soft face with his palms, asked: "how has Mr. Walter Wings Winthrop treated you while I was gone?".
Angie took a deep breath as she prepared her speech. "Master, he was soo mean, you won't believe the scolding I went through! He even beat me!" she theatrically said as she laid her hand on her face.
"WALTER!" yelled Master Alfred, "how dare you treat her with such disrespect!". Flustered as Walter was, he tried defending himself, "Master, I haven't done such harm to her! How can I harm anyone as sweet as her!".
In unison, Alfred and Angie shared a quick glance at each other, then turned to Walter and chanted, "Hehehehe, you have fallen for our trick once again, you gullible Katcara!". Walter's pink face has turned red.
" I am not a Katcara! They are small and hairy! Do I look like a lap pet to y'all!". Angie knowing how pissed he is, she knows what to do. She straightened her back and flipped her hair. That gesture has caught Walter's attention. She walked his way slowly to add a dramatic effect.
Reaching to cradle his face in her hands, she looked him in the eye and with the sweetest voice possible told him "have I upset you my dearest friend?, I sincerely apologize, I mean no harm, I just got a little carried away, I hope you can forgive me soon". Walter feeling calmed by the decibels in her voice has calmed down.
"I do not appreciate this treatment, but you don't get to go out to the town, so I guess I'll have to humor you just to keep you sane little Nymph". Walter's little remark seems to have caught her by surprise, and she was not very happy with that.
"I am not a Nymph! I am a human! What would an elfling like you know!" yelled Angie. Alfred knowing this routine too well got a chair to watch the show.
"An Elfling! I am an Elf-hybrid, and I can feel it, what would a wannabe human know about species!".
"So you think I'm inhuman? Well, elves are supposed to be smart, tall, and handsome!"
"Well, you are not very human yourself, Angie Dee, you can't see your back as well as we can, do you think humans have feathers?".
"To be fair, I only have feathered eyelashes and maybe some on my back".
"Some? Girl, you got two twigs on ya back covered in down feathers".
"Eey! I am the only human here! How would you know what a human looks like, huh!".
Alfred seeing enough action, estimated it was now time to budge in, "Okay y'all better stop your dang fight, Angie you are from earth, but that doesn't make you human, and Walter boy, when you are more mature I'll grant you all the wisdom you desperately need".
Angie turned away, rolling her eyes and sticking her tongue out. Storming off to her room, she announced, "Ima go to my room to rest for work tomorrow".
"Tsk!" Walter went as he turned away from her.
"Walter, I have a trip very soon, and will be heading to earth, the thing is, I fear it may take longer than my usual trips, please make sure she is happy".
"Sir, I will try my best, but may I ask you about something that has been bugging me?".
"Spit it out, son".
"Where did she come from?".
"Walter now is not the time for that, if you'll excuse me I'm going to make myself comfortable, you should head back to your home".
Alfred seemed to hesitate while he was returning to his room, Walter was left to be with his unanswered questions eating away at his thoughts.
