Chi Huan looked at him and only after a long while said, "Alright then."
The man's tightened pupils relaxed, and his body no longer remained so rigid.
He held her as they got into the car, started the engine, and turned on the heater inside the vehicle.
Chi Huan gazed out of the car window, the sky low and gloomy, yet inside the car it was warm and quiet, the drizzle and cold wind kept at bay.
...
By the time they returned to the villa, it was already evening. Winter days were short, and darkness fell early, especially on rainy days, which made it even more gloomy and dull.
The villa was brightly lit and heated, even more comfortable than the car.
After changing shoes and walking in, Mrs. Li quickly brought over a cup of hot tea, "Miss Chi, it's cold outside. You'll feel more comfortable after drinking some hot tea. It's been steeping for a while, so it shouldn't be too hot now."
Chi Huan took it, her lips curling into a slight smile, "Thank you, Mrs. Li."
