FLASHBACK
When Gideon saves Cara from getting drowned. He runs away. As he sees someone coming to save her. And it's of course Ian. And that's when they both met each other.
He gives her mouth to mouth.
...
"Ian can I see you out, for a moment?" he walks out waiting for Ian.
"Is something wrong?" he says as he comes.
'You're lying. You didn't saved Cara that day. Why would you lie to her? "
" What are you talking about?" he says.
"I know for sure that you didn't save her the day she drowned at the beach."
" What are you talking about? And what do you know? You didn't even know about the incident until few minutes ago." he is getting angry.
" I.....I....I....I just know. And I don't appreciate you lying to her about it."
" Were you at the beach that day....? Is that why...." Gideon gives him a angry look.
" Nobody saw who pulled her out of the waters, but I was the first to stop and resuscitate her. So technically, no lies here. Even if I didn't actually save her at that point- I saved her eventually. And if you are as f*cked up as the media says you're, I'll save her from you too. Did she tell you what happened after that day?"
He gives Ian a look which says no.
" After she was saved, she just wanted to be left alone. She rejected everything- treatment, food.... she didn't even wanted to talk to anyone. Anyone expect the person she thought saved her. Me."
" How bad was it?" Gideon asks him.
" I think it's something, you should hear from Cara herself."
After entering the hotel.
" We're leaving now!" Gideon says to Cara.
"But the food just arrived." she sweetly says.
" This was not what I meant when I said you have to talk to her." Ian explains.
" What were the two of you talking outside? Why is he riled up like that?" Cara asks Ian.
" Cara, we're leaving. NOW." he says.
She gets up and shouts," Listen here. I don't appreciate the tome you're using, and you do not get to order me around.
GIDEON'S POV
It's frightening how close the line between anger and sadness lies. When Ian recounted how Cara struggled with herself after the incident, I was heart broken, I should have been the one there for her But the heartache was quickly replaced by disappointment- someone else took my place in her heart. She sees someone else as her hero, where it should have been me. And once the line was crossed, it blurred into rage. I was annoyed at her past with Ian, the obvious bond they shared, and how he knew so much about her.
No matter how I tried, what I did, Cara was reluctant to open up to me. Yet he got her to talk about it over dinner. And above all, I was mad with myself. But for the life of me, I had no f*cking idea how all led to this.
"Yes. You have to listen to me because I own you. Need i remind you that your dad sold to us, in exchange for his business? "
.....
Ian and Cara both were in shock. How could he say something like this? Ian was completely unaware of the coming. And Cara is more angry than she was.
"F*ck. Cara I didn't mean-.." she leaves. She gets out of the hotel.
"Should have known she wouldn't fall for someone like you.
At the street.
"Cara!" Ian shouts at her.
"I'm sorry for ruining your dinner."
"It's not your fault. But you heard him. The gig's up, your hunch was right. I'm marrying him for money. You must think I'm so easy right now. " Cara sighs.
" I know you better than anyone else, Cara. If it's something that would help Black's, you would do it. But agreeing to throw a lifetime of happiness away from them... What were you thinking?"
As he says, Cara recalls all the precious moments with Gideon. From her first kiss with him drunked, to the romance besides toilet seat.
"It'd be easier to hate him than live with him." and she lefts.
At Clemonte Mansion,
Gideon is at the pool drinking whiskey which he throws away as he thinks of Cara. And he immerse himself down the pool.
FLASHBACK
Cara and Gideon standing near the shore,
"Have you heard about the story of the loneliest whale in the world? It's sings a unique song, but it's so unlike others that the other whales can't hear. So it wonders in the vast ocean alone. It cries for help silent to everyone around."
....
He remembers it comes up choking hard.
Next day,
Gideon is in his office. He is attending a meeting.
"She didn't come back to the apartment last night. She hasn't look at any of my messages... I would really appreciate an 'OK' right now."
" We look forward to work with Clemonte Enterprise. For someone to be so accomplished at 25, I believe we're in good hands. You're splitting image of your father. " says Mr. William.
" Pleasures mine. " says Gideon. Mr. William leaves and Gideon is back on his phone. Smith starts raising his eyebrows.
"I don't remember elder Mr Clemonte looking so lovelorn though. Gideon, when you told me you were getting engaged to someone you didn't know, the least I'd expect was... this. Don't get me wrong, Cara is cool and all. But man, what is she doing to you?"
Gidoen sighs as he hears Smith.
At the agency,
"We've have been at this long enough, Black. Lower your asking price and we have a deal. Hailey has been hit with bad press for her drinking adventures, she's not worth that much. " says grumpy Mrs Greene.
" With all due respect, Mrs Greene, terms and conditions of our contracts are reasonable. With the budget you're given, it will barely hurt your pocket. "
" Of course, you had to mention my budget. " says Mrs Greene eye rolling.
" You know your fiance is a large stakeholder in this film, and you're using that to threaten me. " again says Mrs Greene
" This has absolutely to do nothing with my... fiance. The price you're insisting on wouldn't get you a freshly debuted actress." she sighs.
" Oh shut your piehole. What do you know? I demand to speak to your father. You will not use your engagement as a form of leverage against me! " says Greene.
" Not again. " she says as she saw Gideon entering her cabin.
"Is something wrong?" Gideon asks as he enters.
She is surprised to see Gideon and she changes her tone and says," I will have this contract signed and faxed to you first thing tomorrow, Cara." she wishes Gideon and then leaves.
Gideon comes and sits where Greene was sitting.
Cara ignores him and start doing her own work.
"You're welcome." Gideon says.
"As far as I'm concerned helping my father's business is part of the deal. I don't owe you any gratitude. You are just doing your job. It's my due reward for selling myself to the Clemonte's." she says angrily.
" I'm really sorry I said that, Cara. I shouldn't have. My emotions got better of me last night.." he deep breaths" you didn't come home last night." he says
"It's not my home. It's just an apartment your father forced me to live in to hold up my end of the bargain."
" Cara....." as he goes to say, Ian enters behind him.
"Ready to go....?" Ian asks Cara.
Both of them are shocked to see each other. And Gideon is furious.
"Yup! Sorry to keep you waiting." she simply says.
" You're having dinner with him?" he asks
"You ruined our dinner last night, so yes, were having dinner together. Without you." she mentions.
" What would the paparazzi say if they catch you going with another guy?" he is more furious now.
" The same thing the thought when they saw you with the model at the party. We're are a scandalous pair." she smiles.
" This is not what my father wanted us to get engaged."
Cara also gets angry, " To be honest, you have nothing to worry about anyway. We're having dinner at his place."
Gideon is shocked to hear what she is saying,"His place....? Hold up... Did you spend last night at his place?"
She doesn't answers him and simply leaves with Ian.
And Gideon is left furious now.
At Ian's place,
"So...can I impress you with a drink?"
She is simply sitting on the couch and the realized Ian spoked to her.
"Yea, sure, what have you got?"
"Cara...if you like, we can totally postpone this dinner again. You should go talk to Gideon if that's what you want."
" What? No! Don't be ridiculous! Beer! I'd like some beer please!"
" I would have asked you to help with dinner but we both know that cooking cuts a second on the list of the thing you hate most."
FLASHBACK
" That's five tablespoon of salt into the chicken soup. Or is that pinches? Eh, what's the difference?"
After some time,
" SMOKE! WHY IS THERE SMOKE!?"
...
"But he puked it all afterwards!" Cara think of Gideon drinking the chicken soup.
"And that's how I got the apartment. It was steal, really." and he see towards Cara and she nods even though she is not listening.
"The facilities in the building are phenomenal! There's a pool in the gym! I remember the promise I made before I left. If you like, now that I'm back for good, I would live for nothing more to be miss Cara's personal swimming coach."
" Someone already beat you to that." and she gets up and says," I am sorry to bail on you again, but I think I should leave."
Ian is upset. " Before you go, answer this. Why did you lie to GIDEON? You didn't return to his apartment last night, but you weren't with me either. Why did you wanted him to have that impression?"
But she doesn't answer him and simply keeps rubbing her elbow.
"If it's for you, I don't mind being that guy. But what exactly do you want? Do you like him...do you not? Is your relationship for real, is it for show? I'm getting a lot of mixed signals from both of you. And I'd like to know."
But again she doesn't answers and simply says," I have to go..."
At Trinity's apartment,
" You have to go?! What kind of lame excuse is that? Also - I'm all up for sleepovers with my boss but, again? Is this going to become a regular thing? Trinity's house is to bomb shelter to go to when either of us explodes." she laughs.
" I've nowhere else to go. I'm all out of my friends and I certainly do not want to face my mum yet - " she says.
" She has no friends." she says as she cries.
" Hormones. Trinity. You're hormones are showing."
" So in summary, you had a fight with Gideon and an old flame of yours, Ian, has returned." she asks.
" He is not an old flame? He's just an old friend of mine." she explains.
" Whom you totally had a crush on. But what was the fight with Gideon about?" she asks.
" Can you keep a secret?" she asks before telling the secret.
She nods
" Swear on your job and your unborn child that this remains in the room. I, Trinity Havelock, swear to keep this a secret or my unborn child will look a Jennifer Lawrence than a Jennifer Aniston. "
She is surprised. " Bite your tongue! You know I've been binging on Friends! I promise. "
" My marriage with Gideon is a sham."
" That's it."she is neutral and says.
" What do you mean? Aren't you shocked?"
"I've been working with you since your father handed the reigns to you. There's no way someone like you could land a hot pieces of ass that is Gideon Alexander Clemonte. He's way out of your league."
She laughs as she sees Cara's reaction.
And she starts moving her hands on the baby bump.
"This might be my pregnancy hormone speaking, but I don't think your heart knows it's a sham. You've been different since you started hanging with Gideon. Granted, that you rarely smile, but you just seem more....human. In the past you would just lock yourself up in the office, going through business works, worrying over the business, but now? You're at my house after fighting with him. It's a weird change, but I'm not saying that it's bad. You're lowering your guard for him and he's evoking emotions in you. Good or bad -- The feelings you have are something you can't lie about. "
" But he is a total manwh*re." she says.
"Really! We work in this industry, Cara. We know how the media works. Your marriage is a sham but they made it out to be a fairly tale, and they've managed to fool everyone else."
" I've had first experiences with them!" she furiously says.
"Okay, so he was a player. But that's in the past, Cara. We can't change anything about it. What about now? What has he done since he met you?" she asks.
" But he said some terrible things..."
"We all say things we come to regret when we're mad. Plus, the little information you've given me, it sounds like he is jealous of him. Do you think someone who's faking feelings for you would react this way?"
" Maybe, he is the alpha male person. He's upset that his possession is getting friendly with an old crush...I mean old friends of her." she explains.
" You can come up with as much excuses for his actions you want, Cara. But you can't deny that you're feeling."
" I have to go." she says.
" You need to come up with a better excuse to leave." and she leaves.
She leaves and comes running towards GIDEON'S apartment.
She is simply tried and comes up to his apartment.
CARA'S POV
I absolutely had no idea how I got here. But I just had to know something....
.....
"Gideon?" I shout. And instead of GIDEON there comes a half naked girl wearing a bathrobe. She has blue hairs and green eyes. I'm just surprised to see her. How could he?
"Can I help you?" she asks Cara.
And I think I know my answer.
