"Run," he whispers.
The ground is ripping apart by the presence of a white wolf. I have to start running because my mate said so, I wonder if I will ever find a safe haven? The wind is howling as I approach a beautiful area covered in green forest. The colors completely mesh together, so well at the fast pace, I am going. Each stride bigger than the next, until, I reach maximum speed.
I run and run until I find a small watering hole. I try to drink as much as I can, relishing on how good the cold crisp water tastes. I can sense that more people like her are coming, so I panic. My heart racing in my ears.
I begin to go back to my mate. I don't know why I did what he told me to do? I never do.
The white wolf is the only one left and I charge it into a tree. I hear a crack and notice her fall into human form. The others must have left.
She looks starved, maybe around the age of 22, I quickly shift back and notice my mate stumble over to look at the rouge. I let him rest his weight on me. She is so boney, it is very tragic to see someone look this beat up.
"If I shift back do you think you could hold onto her. Ride on my back, please you are hurt." I kiss the side of his cheek and his wolf thanks me.
"Next time, I am not leaving you alone to fight." I get a small grin from him as I shift back into wolf mode.
By the time we get to the car my back is killing me 350 or more pounds on my back while I run, does not feel good. I haven't done much training, but I push through the pain.
We get to the car and they get off, she is still out. Which is good. I shift back throwing on a sweatshirt and shorts, from the back of the car. I help Anthony into a pair of shorts and I throw a blanket over the bitch who tried to kill my mate. Honestly, she should be dead, but we spared her. We broke a pack law and she better be worth it. I look over at my mate. He is in so much pain and there is so much blood. Not his own thank god, but still what was I thinking? You don't just leave your mate like that no matter what the consequences may be or may not be.
I get into the driver's seat ready for a 1-hour drive back to our pack. How do I say sorry?
"Maybe, I should drop out of college so we can live closer to home. Find a nice home, I can maybe teach pre-school, it will not take long to get a degree in teaching little ones. Also, I have over 27 credits and I need 32 to graduate with a teaching degree." I say trying to keep my mate awake.
"That would be nice, you and I could find a nice house in town. I can continue my education in town I graduate in two months." He beams.
"Yeah, that sounds like a dream." I smile as we reach a mile marker saying 128 miles until we are at our pack.
"How are you feeling?" I ask him looking behind me as we reach a stoplight.
"I am fine, just a few broken ribs and scratches." He smiles cheekily as ever. He smiles through the pain attempting to make me feel better about the situation.
"Well, I am ready to play nurse as soon as we get home." He chuckles, and then asks "Will there be a nurse outfit involved?" I almost throw my head back with laughter.
"Maybe, it depends on if you follow all of the instructions the pack doctor gives you, babe." He smiles to himself and winks at me before, I turn my head to look at the road.
"When did you start calling me babe?" He asks as the bitch behind us moans in pain.
"I figured, I would call you that because you are my babe. My forever ever since you gave me this mark." I can feel my cheeks heat up.
We turn into the packhouse. I call for help with the rouge and I help Anthony in myself.
I get him in and his mother is already standing there glowing.
Oh, fuck she of course knows.
"OH MY GOSH, MY BABY IS MATED!! When did it happen? We should celebrate! Let me go call your mom." All I have to say is he got the best stepmom ever!
"Can we first get this situation taken care of? He is hurt and needs the proper care before we can be up for sharing anything." She smiles sweetly.
"You two love birds are so adorable. I can't wait for grandkids," She squeaks sounding like a broken shopping cart.
"Well, it is not going to happen anytime soon if he doesn't heal." I almost roll my eyes at her.
"He is Alpha blood, he just needs to rest and everything will be back to normal." I forgot that part.
I sit in a chair next to him.
"Do you need a glass of water?" I ask.
"Yes, but thanks for being so strong and listening to me. Also, we will go on that trip to Hawaii soon. I promise." I walk out of the room and everyone starts looking at me as I run to the bathroom to throw up. I can't handle the scent of blood on me and him. Mix it with a wet dog and you have got a nasty concoction.
I go to the cafe' to get a few ice waters and a sandwich.
I look for a nurse and ask her for a toothbrush and, then I see her...
The rouge...
I quickly grab it and brush my teeth in the bathroom, while they prepare the food.
I hate her, she ruined my moment and tried hurting my mate. She could have killed him goddammit!
My blood boils just thinking about her.
I keep imagining ripping her head off. How easy it would be to just kill her, to end her for good. She hurt my mate and her own people left her. Anthony took out the big one completely, but then he tore his shoulder.
The dark thoughts leave my head before they can continue. My wolf stops projecting those images and I sigh.
