Waking up, I see Gon with a bruise on his face. I try to sit up, ouch! I can feel my hand is numb and my face is numb. Seems I was punched into a coma. It's the 4th day already.
Gon: "Oh, you're awake. How do you feel?"
Esther: "Been better, and you?"
Gon: "Same."
Gon tries to move, he still seems paralyzed. I get up and open my bottle.
Esther: "Here, have some. You must be hungry by now right? Don't worry, it tastes worse than it looks."
Gon: "Well that's reassuring…"
Gon eats some, he looks like he wants to spit it out but swallows.
Esther: "Oh come on, it isn't that bad-"
I feel like puking. Oh man, did I forget to add the fish in it?
Esther: "Ok, it's pretty bad. I'll go look around for food, you stay here."
I walk for a bit, I see many different types of plants. None with good taste. After walking around for a bit, I spot another stream. I take a rock and kill a couple of fishes. I then bring it back after I cooked them. I hand one to Gon, he eats it. I asked if he wants to put some of my mash on it, he refused. After eating, Gon looks like he can move a bit more.
Esther: "You're recovering pretty fast. Keep this up, and you'll be good tomorrow."
Gon and I waste our time telling jokes and talking.
Gon: "Hey, how did you get those injuries?"
Esther: "Some idiot blew himself up instead of giving me his badge."
Gon: "Why would he do that?"
I shrug. Time passes, the sun starts to set. Gon asks a question.
Gon: "Hey Esther, what do you think the others are doing?"
Esther: "Probably still looking for their opponent's badge. Leorio must be the only one who doesn't have his yet, I'm positive."
Gon: "Maybe we should help them?"
Esther: "How are we going to find them?"
Gon: "By going to where we got off the boat. I'm sure they'll go there."
Esther: "Well, alright. Let's sleep on it."
Gon: "Okay."
The next morning, it's the 5th day. Gon seems to be able to stand up and move now. I remove my bandages and stretch. Recovered enough, no more bleeding.
Gon: "Ready to go?"
Esther: "Yes."
We hop around on the trees until we reach our destination. Looking around, I see many applicants waiting here as well. They seem to be hiding though.
Gon: "We'll wait here for them to arrive."
Esther: "Ok."
We pass the time playing games and fishing. The sun goes down. We rest, no-one is going to attack us. And who is after my badge? Did I kill them? Or did someone else kill them? The next morning, it's the 6th day. I can hear footsteps approaching. Gon wakes up as well, we look down from the tree and see Leorio and Kurapika. They are talking about splitting up to look for someone.
Gon: "It'll go way faster with 4 people."
We hop off the tree.
L and K: "Gon! Esther!"
Esther: "Seems you were right. They would come here. So who are you looking for?"
Kurapika: "Leorio is looking for number 246, a woman named Ponzu. Have you seen her?"
Esther: "No. But maybe Gon can help. Does she have some special fragrance?"
Kurapika: "That's right! Gon might be able to track her by her sent."
Leorio: "Okay, but, she might not even be wearing perfume. What will we do then?"
Kurapika: "He'll track her chemicals. She's well known for using chemicals isn't she? With a variety of chemicals, some are sure to have distinct odors. Well Gon?"
Gon: "Right!"
