Chapter 11 - I Will Soon Have a Harem

Seeing as Skye was not talking, Iris took the initiative and asked him "Yesterday we saw you getting beaten up by Captain Stonewall, how are you feeling today? Are you okay? "

"Yes, yes I am fine. Fortunately, they have excellent doctors here, they can heal wounds very quickly." Skye said. He did not want to reveal to others the type of skill he had, so he instead praised the medical staff for the reason for his quick recovery.

"You missed theory classes yesterday, they explained some basic things about skills. Do you want to know?" Iris asked.

"No, not really. I read a little about it from the books that were in the room." Skye said. He already read most of the book about skills and classification so he was not much interested in what the teacher said. And since it was the first day yesterday, so he thought they might not even have taught as much as he read from the book.

"In the sparring session they taught some basic stances of martial arts. Do you know martial arts?" Iris asked.

"Not much." Skye replied.

Iris was trying to talk to him and initiating different conversations, but he was cutting off all the conversations she was starting. So, after 2-3 times, she also stopped talking and just silently ate her food.

After a few more minutes of silence, Skye asked, "How come you are alone today?". What he actually wanted to ask was 'where is Sharon?', but he chose not to ask directly.

Iris looked at him, this was the first time he was directly looking at her and giving his attention to her, or rather on what she would say next. With a slight disappointment in her voice, she asked "Do you want to know about Sharon?"

Even though he did not want to ask about Sharon directly, he lacked the experience to handle such situations, so how could his thoughts escape from the sharp senses of a woman like Iris. He was occasionally looking towards the entrance, as if he was waiting for someone to enter so she directly knew what he wanted to actually ask and called him out on it .

"No, noting like that. I always saw you guys together so I was curious seeing you alone." Skye said hurriedly justifying himself. Even if Iris called him out on his intentions, he did not want to admit it to her.

"I woke up early today, so came for early breakfast. " Iris said simply and did not talk anything more.

She was a little disappointed, so she quickly ate her breakfast and left. Before leaving she just said "Thank you for earlier" and went without looking back.

Iris was here when he came, so he thought it was natural she finished eating her food before him, and did not think anything abnormal about the way she left.

He had very high intelligence and wisdom stats compared to a normal person, but when it comes to understanding women, he was just a fool.

Today he came to the ground early and he saw that the ground was almost fully filled. The beating Captain Stonewall gave to Skye has instilled a deep fear in them, hence they woke up earlier than usual and came as soon as they can. They did not want to take any chances.

Captain Stonewall came right on time and ordered them to perform same set of exercises again. Since everyone came on time today, he praised them for learning so quickly, but he was inwardly disappointed because he could not punish anyone today.

He made a mental note to think of some other ways to get them punished. He was extremely determined and tomorrow he would definitely find a way to punish someone. Looking at his expression they broke out in a cold sweat fearing what may happen tomorrow.

Skye gave it his all during exercise, he wanted to check how much improvement he would have now, since his strength and stamina increased by 1.5 points each. As expected, he did better than yesterday, but to his disappointment, not as better as he hoped he would.

Until yesterday no matter how much he tried, he could only last up to an hour in to the exercise. But today, he lasted for almost 10 minutes more. 1 hour and 10 minutes, that was his limit today.

1.5 stat points could only equate to 10 minutes more. They almost costed him 100 days of his life and in return what he got was just 10 minutes more, so he couldn't help but be disappointed.

"Still, any visible improvements are still improvements nonetheless. I should be happy no matter what " Skye thought to himself bringing his spirits up. "But what are the stats of those people who are still standing even after 3 hours? They must be having super high physical stats!!" Skye thought.

No matter how high others stats are, what he has is a very rare skill and he would definitely catch up to them no matter what. It doesn't matter if they had significantly large initial stats.

As long as he had enough life force he would become just as strong as them or even surpass them, so he did not think too much about them. With his cheat like skill, everybody else was just a stepping stone on his road to greatness.

Thinking like this, Skye couldn't help but be pleased with himself. He had an ear-to-ear grin plastered on his face throughout, even when he was exhausted from all the exercise.

After the morning exercise they all dispersed. 2 hours later when he was walking towards his first theory class, he met Skanda on the way.

"Bro, did yesterday's beating affect your mind? You have a stupid smile on your face." Skanda said teasing Skye.

He was in a good mood today so no matter how Skanda teased him he did not react. After a couple of tries Skanda stopped on his own. " Bro, you are no fun today." Skanda said looking bored.

"Hahahahaa, you won't get what you want today. It's good you realized early." Skye said laughing.

"Bro, what good thing happened to you? oooooh .... Did you finally get a girlfriend?

Hearing Skanda mention about a girlfriend, he stopped laughing and then became sad, but immediately he said "Nice try kid, but it doesn't matter anymore, I will soon have a harem. Hahahaha" Skye started laughing again.

They entered the class together and sat side by side. Skye initially wanted to sit at the far back of the class. He was very intelligent compared with normal people and he quickly grasped things that others found difficult; hence he developed a sense of boredom in attending classes. He always preferred to sit at the back and sleep if he got a chance.

But Skanda made up a story that since he was short and he couldn't see the teacher properly from the back. So, they both sat in the middle.

The classroom was actually like an auditorium, so every person in the room could clearly hear and see the person in front, but since Skye was happy today, he did not mind it and sat where Skanda wanted.

The teacher was one of the Captain's they saw the first day. He was a tall man, with an oblong face and sharp facial features and short black hair. He did not look as muscular as Captain Stonewall as he was slim but he still had a well-developed body, kind of like an athlete. His name was Captain Bolt.

In continuation to yesterday's class on skills and their classification, today he talked about the various roles people could play with their skills when fighting in wilderness or when fighting on battlefield.

He taught that the stat skills or the physical skills which increase speed can perform the role of a scout, those with physical skills which increased their perception, like improved hearing or eyesight, could also become a scout.

The people whose skill affected strength or stamina could become the tank. The people with magic skills are versatile and they can become either a scout or tank or long range damage dealer or an assassin or healer, depending on the type of attribute their magic skill belonged to.

Light attribute magic skill can help in becoming a healer, a dark attribute magic skill can help in assassination, earth for shielding from attacks etc.

But he said that if you ever encounter enemies with either a space or time attribute magic skill then it is sensible to tuck your tails, swallow your pride and run away as fast as you can. That is unless if you also have a space or time attribute skill user in your team. Then you could stay and battle.

The difficult one's to categorize to a particular role are the people with soul skills, their skills were erratic and couldn't be categorized, but, it would always be helpful to have a person with a soul skill.

It is generally observed that, the users of soul skills have high soul stat and they have a type of innate sense which can warn them of future danger. Having such people with high soul stat can be valuable in any situation, especially in evading an ambush.
