Tuesday
A knock awakens Takeshi the next morning. He slowly sits up in his bed as another knock comes from the front door. After glancing around the room and noticing Ren had left, he gets off of his bed and walks down to the front door. A note taped to the door catches his attention. He looks at it and it reads;
Better get going to school, you don't want to be late
-R
A small laugh escapes from Takeshi's lips as he takes the note down and throws it into the trash.
As he steps into his class, the first bell of the day screams through the school's speakers. He walks over and sits in his desk with a sigh before Maiman suddenly trots into the classroom and lays down next to him.
"Hey handsome," Eclipse smiles at the sight of him.
"Hey," he throws her a faint smile.
"Where have you been?" she looks over at the teacher then back at Takeshi before speaking.
"Sick," he shrugs.
"Oh. Ok?" She eyes him before the teacher interrupts them by dropping the day's assignment on their desks.
"Due before the end of class," Mr.Himu eyes Takeshi as he speaks.
"Yes sir," Eclipse gives Mr.Himu a slight smile.
"Takeshi?" Eclipse looks over at Takeshi as they sit and eat their lunches.
"Who is Vena?" she watches his muscles tighten up at the name.
"What do you mean?" he clenches his teeth.
"My mom mentioned her," she glances away for a second.
"Mentioned?" He stares at his lunch.
"Yeah. Just, mentioned her. She was explaining my assignment, to be assigned to you, and she mentioned how you used to work with someone named Vena Gnatial," he slowly begins to stand up as she mentions the name again.
"Takeshi?" She watches him with confusion.
"She was, an acquaintance of mine. We worked together on missions, even amongst our differences," he sighs, continuing to stare at the table.
"Differences?" She looks at the table then at him again.
"She was human and she hadn't met any of her family," Takeshi looks around before looking back at the table.
"Oh?" She lifts an eyebrow. "You loved her, didn't you?" She watches his muscles tense then relax.
"She was, my first love, yes. My first, true, love. And I was hers," Takeshi fights back a tear.
"What happened to her?" She sighs.
"She was killed, by another human, who was working for monsters that ordered him to kill her, and other hunters, who worked at the Church," Takeshi clenches his hands into fists.
"How do you know?" She watches a tear run down his face.
"I saw it. I saw him kill her," another tear falls from his eyes.
"What happened to him?" She watches him take a long sigh.
"His name was Oliver Lovax. We, the Church, had a warrant out for his capture. When he killed her, I went after him and killed him on the spot without a second thought. I showed him no mercy like he showed her no mercy," Takeshi takes a quick breath.
"You killed him?" She nearly gasps.
"Yes. And I do not regret it," hatred runs through his voice.
