Jun, a guy with a detective getup, with some mysterious powers, warns me that I don't have enough time to fool around. I have to figure out my trial before the world is going to be filled with zombies. At this moment, I finally realized. I took this wonderful world that grants me wishes for granted. I do have something about this.
"Ryutenji, you told me that you are the answer to my trial is it?" I asked. Jun looked slightly surprised. He seems like he knew about him.
"You... You told her that?!" Jun asked in surprise. Ryutenji shook his head. That made me wanted to know what did he mean about 'that'.
"Ryutenji, you are Yuuma, am I right?" I asked. The two of them looked at each other, and then looked at me, and then looked at each other again.
"Well... That sounds vague if you ask me. You are close, but not there yet." Ryutenji said. He gives off a presence similar to Yuuma. What could be wrong here?
"You're lucky today. There's no next time." Jun said before leaving. He probably mentioned about saving us from zombies. Although I uncovered a mystery that I have been wanting to know, I felt like I regretted about it now. Ryutenji is still waiting around. What is he planning to do?
"Yuuma-kun, what is he to you? Why did you wanted to see someone you rejected back then?" Ryutenji asked. I'm surprised that he would ask questions like this. Since he is always the one answering my questions, I guess I'll answer him this time.
"We were childhood friends. We were very close to each other, until we got into middle school, there were people who didn't like me being near to Yuuma, who had became popular in school." I paused for a moment. Ryutenji is thinking, perhaps trying to understand the situation.
"Then they try to get rid of you." Ryutenji said.
"Yes... One day, a girl and some friends dragged me into the toilet, locked me into a toilet room and poured dirty water on me, and then cut my hair into a mess. It was so traumatic to me, that I instinctly changed myself to avoid Yuuma." I said.
"Such unforgivable people..." Ryutenji clenched his fists tightly, he... Seems like very angry. Perhaps, if Yuuma knew this, he would save me, and I could be together with him back then.
"So that's why Rika... Grrr... ... Never mind." Ryutenji seems like he wanted to say something, but he changed his mind.
It's already past seven, walking with Ryutenji in a quiet street, it's so quiet that I can even hear the sound of breeze passing by my ears. Perhaps it's because I don't want to see anyone right now. Ryutenji, seems hesitating to say something.
"Is there anything you wanted to tell me?" I asked.
"Well... You know... At the time, where you were abused in middle school... Why did Yuuma-kun not noticing your changes?" Ryutenji asked. How did he know that? I made sure only the hairdresser who maintains my short length hair knows my secret... No I must ask him where did he found this out.
"Where did you heard that?" I asked.
"I... I just have that knowledge." Ryutenji said, with a little confidence. He was looking all mighty at the first time we met, I never thought that he would show me such expressions. He then kept on asking questions about me and Yuuma. Every time I answered a question, he became more relaxed and assertive. Perhaps I'm filling him in something that relates to the trial that I'm trying to clear.
At last, we reached the station. The station is empty. With my ability, there is not a single person in the station. I boarded the train to return to Yuuma. Ryutenji follows as well.
"Why are you following me?" I asked.
"I simply wanted to accompany you to Yuuma-kun." Ryutenji replied, again with that confidence. I felt offended, but it's at least better to have someone with me in this quiet journey.
A trip back to the Central city didn't took long. I returned to the theme park entrance to see Yuuma sitting on a bench.
"Yuuma! I'm sorry, I had something to do just now!" I ran towards Yuuma, trying to explain what happened. Ryutenji followed me, and greeted with Yuuma. Yuuma nodded his head slightly as a gesture of politeness.
"Allow me to talk with Yuuma-kun for a little bit." Ryutenji asked.
"Go ahead." I said. I think I have to cooperate with Ryutenji in order to find out my trials as soon as possible.
...
I followed Ryutenji-san to a quiet place where I can see no one around. It is very late to be outside anyways. What is he trying to tell me?
"Yuuma-kun. From now on, I'll grant you singularity." Ryutenji said. Singularity? What does it mean?
"What did you mean with that? What is singularity?" I asked.
"Singularity, is a right to exist in this world. As you were a part of this world... Your existence is possible thanks to Rinka-chan's attention. Otherwise, you are nothing." Ryutenji said. Don't joke with me, I had no idea what you were talking about! My existence? Do I disappear if Rinka-chan is not paying attention to me? Is it how I was in that blink of an hour?! I grabbed Ryutenji's collar.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"Well... You'll see it yourself when you have your own singularity." Ryutenji grabbed my hand and said. I released him, and he started acting weird. With that, I started to feel nauseous, my head is spinning... What is this... Argh... My head hurts...
...
I waited for Yuuma. It has been half an hour, I started to get worried. I walked towards the direction where the two of them headed to, I found Yuuma, he looks like he's not feeling well. I wondered what happened. I rushed towards them.
"... Oops... Since Rinka-chan is here, we should continue this in a later day." Ryutenji said, and stepped back. I got to Yuuma, he is not responding, is he stunned? No. That is not the case, a stunned person wouldn't even breathe. He is, on the other hand, breathing heavily.
"Sing... ular... ity...?" Yuuma murmured. I noticed me and then leaned towards me. Hey! We're not going further than kissing without your confession!...
It took me a while to understand that he is asleep. I savoured a while to hold him in my arms, I felt secured when I'm like this with him, it feels so... Special.
Yuuma started to move, I quickly retracted my hands, and acted like nothing happened. He looked at me with sleepy eyes. I took a look on my watch, and... It's past nine! Oh my, we have to rush to the station! I noticed that he is still not in the mood, I smiled to him.
"Good... Morning?" I said.
"Yeah, let's head back." Yuuma said.
We took the train back to Touna, it seems like we couldn't say anything to each other on the way back. He is somehow, thinking. It made me really wanted to tease him.
"Yuuma, my hand appeared! What would you like to do?" I said. Man, it was straight embarrassing!
"I'd hold it tight." He said, then holds my hand. Ahhhh my heart... We head back home without saying anything. He escorted me back to my house.
"Eh, Yuuma-kun, I thought you would be spending the night out with Rinka, please come in for tea!" My parents invited. He gently refused and thanked me for spending a day with him. Something must have gone wrong. Is is Ryutenji's doings? I started doubting him. He showed me an uncertain face when I asked him whether if he is Yuuma. If he is not, he should be outrightly denying the question, not giving me a vague reply.
Speaking of which, he also commented that my answer was vague as well. "I'm very close, but not there yet." is what he said. Without any further delay, I started writing my next diary entry.
...
I returned to my room, and remembered what Ryutenji-san said to me.
"... Normally when Rinka-chan is not with you, or you are not texting each other. All you could notice, perhaps not is a time skip is it? Such as... From where you sent a good night text, until you stepped out of your house to check on Rinka-chan." He said. Although my head hurts when he said so, it made sense. I had no recollection of what I was doing that time.
Did I just dissappear within the time? In that case, he also said something.
"... At that period of time, you, were merely 'deactivated'. Just like a machine. When you are not using it, you simply need to turn it off, until you want to use it again." Ryutenji-san said. The logics in this world, even defies the physics knowledge that our predecessors had defined.
In that case... He also mentioned...
"... This is not a real world, nor a parallel world. This world, is more like a pocket dimension of the Rain Goddess, Ame. A world modeled according to how numerous people envisioned it altogether. Thus, inhabitants like you were all the people that were created simply because you were a part of the world envisioned by them." Ryutenji-san said.
The 'them' Ryutenji-san mentioned, are people who entered this world to partake trials from the Rain Goddess' blessings. Which also means Rinka-chan is also one of them. Now that I had attained singularity, I had no need to keep the lights off. I need light to do my homework anyways.
