*FLASHBACK CONTINUES*
"For example, the orange and yellow flames represent warmth." He continued as he gave her a sad smile. "It was a spell put by my wife way before she died."
"Let's get back to the topic." Before the lady could question him about his deceased wife, he shifted the topic back to the previous conversation. "Have you ever heard about the prophecy?" He added.
"You mean 'the prophecy' which was stated in the oracles?" She gave him a questioning look. "The one which states the fate of our world?'
'Yes, the very same one." He nodded his head in a yes before continuing further. "Do you know what exactly it states?"
She shook her head in a no as she spoke up. "I was only able to get that much about it because I sort of eavesdropped on a conversation my father was having with a higher-up of the Council. Before I could hear any more of their conversation, my father caught me red-handed and sent me off to my room with a spell, bounding me within the confinements of my room for a whole day as a punishment." She answered him honestly only to hear a low chuckle from him.
"Since you don't know much about it, I will do the honors of telling you what exactly it states." He spoke up as he gave her a lop-sided grin before continuing.
"The day darkness and light entangle, chaos will befall upon the two worlds. Nothing will be left unscathed by the carnage, but it will also be the beginning of a new era."
After hearing his words, she fell silent as her mind began to process the words.
"Darkness and light?" She spoke up after a while. Her flawless face was marred by a frown which formed a small v in between her perfectly defined brows. "Aden and that…" Her words trailed off while her golden brown orbs stared back into his purely golden ones.
"Aden and that demon girl." He finished her sentence for her. "As far as we could tell, the prophecy refers to them. It appeared in the oracles after she was born. What else could it mean then if not them?" He explained it to her.
"But nothing happened to either of the two worlds." His words only left her more confused and she couldn't help question his understanding of the prophecy.
"Nothing has happened to either of the two worlds 'yet'!" He exclaimed as he corrected the lady's words. "That's because they are no longer alive, or at least I hope one of them isn't."
"What do you mean?" The more she listened to him, the more confused she was becoming.
"Before they died, my son did something really stupid. He bounded his soul to hers using some dark spell. That is why he died with the girl. I don't know if it was because of the same spell, or it was just the Deities working together to make sure that things fall together again. But they are alive, at least my son is for all we know." He gave her a faint smile.
"Aden is alive?" The frown on her forehead only deepened as she heard the man's explanation.
He nodded his head. "The day they died, they were born again the very moment. It's just that they were born in neither of the two worlds."
"Then where are they if not here, or the Nether World?" She questioned him as she could feel her heart beating out of her chest. It felt like it would jump out of her chest at any moment.
Just the mere mention of Aden being alive was enough to give her a new hope. Despite getting so many proposals for marriage from powerful angels who belonged to the elite class, she never agreed to marry any of them. Even after her parents pressurized her to say yes many times, she didn't give in. How could she say yes to spend an eternity with someone she didn't have an ounce of feeling for? Her heart still beat for the only man she had grown accustomed to.
"Earth." He answered her question. Before the lady could inquire any further, he decided to provide her with an answer himself.
"It took me a while to realize that he might still be alive, and some time to locate him. I had to ask for an old mate's help from the witches' realm. He is a powerful sorcerer. He was hesitant at first, but he owed me a favour so he had to help me. I sent some of my trust worthy angels to keep an eye on him."
She opened her mouth and closed it again. She was having a hard time to find the right words. "Why not bring him back here? He must be grown up by now. He surely misses his true home." She let out a protest.
"It is not that easy. For starters, he doesn't remember a thing about his past life. And secondly, if he is alive then it can only mean one thing. That demon girl is also alive. I have been trying to find her location, but so far I have no results. I am sure that definitely has something to do with the Devil himself." He shrugged his shoulders in a nonchalant way.
"Why don't you try asking your friend who helped you in finding Aden's location again? He can surely help you with it, and then you can get rid of the girl before she finds her way back to him." She suggested only to see him shake her suggestion off.
"He refused you to help me with this for one. He doesn't want to go against the Devil. Secondly, we don't know for sure whether or not the spell is still intact and doing its work. We cannot mess this up once again. We are given another chance to fix the mess and stop the prophecy from coming true." He gave her a hopeful look. "But I need your help in doing so, my dear."
"I will help you with anything, your Highness." She bobbed her head up and down as she agreed to lend him her services.
