Crosshitch drive was a reasonably nice area, the neighbours were friendly and nobody was too nosy. The streets were clean and the sun shone bright. Its rays squeezed through buildings and onto the smooth tarmac.
I walked down on the pavement feeling the warmth of the sun against my skin. I took a bite of my lettuce sandwich, which was a really shite flavour considering the ingredients were lettuce, bread and butter. Anyhoo i took a bite and continued walking.
I looked up in the air, admiring the almost perfect sky. It was cloudy but to just the right degree, the clouds were thin and patched allowing the sun to shine through without its heat becoming irritating.
Then i saw it, it looked like a small bird at first (or far away, its hard to judge with no background to refrence from) but then as it approached its shape became more ovular and warped. At which point it hit me, It was a meteorite. Then it hit me, this time in a more literal sense.
"Then I woke up here"
The man infront of me sighed and put away the book he had been writing in.
"so you don't remember anything else at all"
"well i picked my nose at some point"
"Ah yes, thank you for that detail, very useful...
... ... aaaanyway, your dead."
" oh. Well thats unfortunate"
"mmm yes quite so. Well you died unfairly due to an interstellar bowling tournament, its ok though 'cos the norse gods won. But basically you got hit with a galactic bowling pin sooooo your going to be alive again. yaaaaay."
"uuh cool. i guess" i replied.
It seemed tranquil there like a haze of thought drifted through me. It was hard to focus and everything was calm like my worries had all been shat out in a non diarrhetic fashion. Which reminded me of my dire need for a wazz.
When I returned I went to ask the strange man a question but as i opened my mouth my entire body sunk and i fell back to earth, its greyish dead landscape hurtling towards me like something really fast maybe a bullet. Then i stopped, ten feet from the ground and slowly descended the rest of the way until my hand touched the floor.
I got up and decided to go home
Oh wait, it was crushed by a bowling pin.
I slumped on a nearby bench and put my hands in my pockets.
But what was this? I felt somthing wet and crunchable in my pocket i pulled it out to reveal the rest of my lettuce sandwich. I smiled.
"at least i have you my non delectable friend"
And took a bite.
