"Numbers 1 through 15 please present yourselves to your indicated audition room." The speaker startled everyone except Ashlyn.
"It started." She mumbled.
Cameron watched 15 girls separate in 2 and 3's until they disappeared from everyone's sights. The room went quiet after that and the noises were very minimal. This made the atmosphere even more tense. Only a few were calm and relaxed. Others had an arrogant expression.
It was this person in particular that caught Cameron's attention. Isn't that the famous superstar. She's also an A list star. Don't you think she's a bit too arrogant? She acts like a slut all the time well at least that's what I heard" She told Ashlyn.
Ashlyn turned to see were Cameron was looking at she shook her head. "She may be arrogant but at least she knows what she's capable of," Ashlyn told her and Cameron was confused. "Half the woman in her group have either bribed people, slept with directors, or used their family's influence to get where they are."
"Although she acts arrogant at least she has the skills to back it up, unlike those fake barbies." Ashlyn continued. "How do you know?" Cameron asked with interest. "It's not hard to figure out. All the movies she's acted on are on the top ten and her acting is clean." Ashlyn responded.
"Ah okay. You'll to guide me on this Ash. I'm not good at this acting industry thing." Cameron commented. "Sure," Ashlyn replied.
"By the way where did Li Zi go?" Ashlyn asked. "She's getting drinks," replied. "Ashlyn let me look at your number." Cameron requested and Ashlyn handed her the sheet.
"You are 75, room number B1 and group G," Cameron said as she read the paper.
It had only been fifteen minutes after the first people went in and 10 were gone. Only five passed.
" Numbers 20-35 you may walk to your indicated rooms." The speaker announced once gain. After that group, only 3 people stayed. This made everyone quite shocked.
Out of such a large group, why did only 3 come out? This made everyone start questioning the fairness of the auditions. Not to mention how short it was. All of those people were eliminated in just 30 minutes! Everyone grew even more nervous the room was way more tense.
It was a bit shocking just how easily these people were eliminated. Although, she felt it a bit too extreme Ashlyn remained calm. This continued for two more hours until the numbers reached the 60's. Ashlyn's turn would come soon.
"What happened?" Ashlyn asked Lake who had come over and told her what had happened. "So, many thought it was a bit sketchy that you sent us to help them so they declined our offer. We managed to help 10 people out of everyone." Ashlyn simply nodded at what Lake said.
She expected this outcome. Not many would accept the offer but at least she had helped a few people. Aside from that what matters right now is getting the role.
Finally, after a lot of waiting her number was called. Aslyn noticed that she was placed in the same group as her dear step sister. Sissie glanced at her arrogantly. Her lips curled upwards and they headed inside a room.
They met with a very spacious room that had a table placed with all the items the person was touse as props. Sissie felt extremely successful when she saw that Ashlyn had none of her Assistants with her. She felt like she had an advantage over her.
To think they are auditioning for the same role that made her sick. Just who does this little nobody think she is? Even if her mother was a great actress it doesn't necessarily mean that she should be one too. Besides, she has more experience in this and she's already an A-list actress. She thought of Ashlyn's attempts to become an actress again and all she saw was failure ahead for her.
Too bad she couldn't do anything. If only she was able to make Ashlyn never appear in the acting industry. If only….. Her step-father told her to stay down. She wasn't going to listen until her mother stepped up and repeated the same words as her step-father.
She smiled when she saw the table with all the supplies she would need. "Perfect" she mumbled. A necklace that serves a sentimental value in the scene she will audition, this what caught her eyes She immediately pushed everything aside and took the necklace. She smiled and sat down in her chair feeling extremely confident.
Ashlyn on the other hand sighed. 'How I'm I going to market this work?' She wondered.
"You all have fifteen minutes to choose." A woman came forward and announced this. She then walked towards a few people and whispered a few sentences. Those people frowned, teared up, or showed a look of disappointment. Out of the 20 people inside the room, 10 were escorted out without even properly auditioning.
Ashlyn realized that they were taking everything into account. Even the choices they made about their props. She looked down at her own two items and she sighed. Since the film would be taking place in the past the cellphone would be useless.
The scene she was to audition with is when the female lead receives the news that she has been accepted to enter the private school and can start performing as a dancer. She gets called into the headmaster's office and she receives the news that the couple that was about to adopt her backed out.
Being her 18th birthday she celebrates in on her own. In that scene, the female leads decides to finally leave the orphanage and follow her dreams. The scene was quite complicated. She had to demonstrate the happiness of the main character when she receives the exception letter, when her heartbreaks for being rejected again, spending her 18th birthday on her own with no company, and lastly her determination to become a big star around the world and perform in the biggest theaters.
